Am wondering if there is any information here or dicussion on the Honda Helix?? Am looking for maybe some ideas on how to get a little performance increase and maybe belts and clutches. Rollers or whatever to make it just a bit better and not hurt the reliability.
Thanks Happy

Happy all performance theory will apply to any scooter more air/fuel in and better exhaust. I was thinking about an Elite 250 myself for a while and they are not a lot of upgrades available commercially. You would have to custom make a performance exhaust for example. You could modify air intake and/or get a bigger Carb but your kind of in uncharted territory with a Helix. I don't know if you can change roller weights in a Helix variator or not. The Helix is a quality scoot and has a good resale value. Maybee sell her and look at a good used Burgman 400 or Majesty? I've seen them used for $4000 and Helix's for $2000-$3000. If you get a good price for your Helix getting a bigger scoot might be cheaper in the long run! Custom performance is expensive unless your a machine shop owner but then there's still the technical problems. Good luck maybee Dawg or Stan have more insight.....Guys how bout it? Aaron As Knice will show below I am an idiot ;D

I had an elite 250 and put performance parts for the helix on there. Leo Vince makes a great pipe for the helix - the "touring model". Also malossi makes a variator and weights for it. Kevlar belt also available from polloni. Try badmotorscooterparts.com for starters. If you put it on Elite 250 you will have to fabricate different mounting bracket. Don't forget to upjet if you put on pipe.

Leo Vince no longer makes a pipe for the Helix.. it did contact them and that is what they told me.. i am putting on the K&N aircleaner for sure do the jettint and see what happens.. More than likely not much at all..But i just want a bit more to hold 60 mph or 65 on the hillls a little better and going into a headwind... not sure how much a Malossi clutch will help on the higher speeds but i am sure its not going to help, just a little biti down lower speeds like 0- 45 then its pretty much i think not a lot differant than stock.. just may have to get a bigger scoot but then the Helix is all in all pretty nice ride

If your Helix can't hold 60-65mph stock it is not running right.

If your Helix can't hold 60-65mph stock it is not running right. Iwill do 65 all day uless the wind is bucking you a little and or a grade will pull it down too.. just tryintg to get it to maintain a little better.. it on a good flat no wind do 70 -72. i guess thats not bad from what i understand.. some say they do a lot more but then maybe the speedo is not the same as mine is or its just a hard running scoot had the valves run and the idle mixture set on it and seems to idle pretty smooth i guess will wait and see when i get the K&N installed and the jetting...

On the snowmobiles I've had, as the belt wears across it's width, the top speed goes down due to lower ratio in variator. Do you guys notice this with scooters?
