Ok my friends here is the update to my Magnum 300 post on "aftermarket stator" and the associated problems. After several remarks from some of you and a couple of PM's to me it was time to do a "preflight check" of the scooter. Well lo and behold my fuel regulator was set to 4 Psi instead of the 2 or so I normally set. I contribute this to my setting it in the dark after shutting it down to zero (anti theft- no fuel no go) when I parked it downtown for a while. Ok so I reset it even though I don't think it was contributory to my bog problem. I then pulled the blank plug off of the air fuel ratio screw. For those that might not know it is located on the bottom of the carb and towards the front (by the intake manifold). Thx to those that helped me find the right thing. I turned the screw one half turn with an s shaped screwdriver (phillips head on one side and flat head on the other). This tool is indispensable when adjusting the screw...it makes it a piece of cake, 15 second job. Weather is not great for scoot riding right now so stand by for words on the effectiveness. The "so what" in all this is...the Ice Bear company has some good and some terrible review/remarks etc. If I can just get this little annoyance fixed this trike will be perfect. The more miles I get on it the better it runs and the more I like it. I certainly would not discourage anyone from getting one. If you worried and want peace of mind about your new scoot during delivery then order it from Jim in Wisc at RapidRepair. Good dude` and will always help you regardless.

Right on Leeinark, I was going to mention the Double [ types of screw drivers but I forgot about them. Yes with something like that you do not have to rotate the Carb and possibley mess something else up.
Great Job and Great Post giving anyone contemplating on getting one a good idea of their worth. Lefty

Are we talking about an offset screwdriver or is there another specialty one

They have them with one end haveing the flat driver bent up about 1/2 inch and on the other end a philps bent in the Opposite way, Sort of like a Z but the middle is just straight. Lefty

I've had that screw driver for probably 15 years and doubt I've ever used it for anything else but it damn sure worked for this quite well. Can't wait to take the scoot out. Probably won't get to until Sunday or Monday though

Great Job Lee! Glad I could help you and thank you for your kind words. I try very hard to help and keep on top of what is going on with Ice Bear and their mods as well as OEM.
I made a screw driver for those carbs back when I had a 250 Linhai scooter with the same carb. I took a small blade flat head (electronics tech style) and cut the handle off. Works great! I also have a couple of those angle types that I have had for a veryyyyyyyy long time and didn't even think about using one of them. I will try that the next time I adjust one of those carbs and see which works best for me.

1/2 turn counterclockwise appears to haved solved my problem. Took scoot out this morning and it started right up idled a little high for awhile (like its supposed to). First engine rev 2 minutes later and it idled right down. Went for a 15 mile ride and it ran like a charm. I put a very nice digital volt meter on the trike this weekend and I love it. I took some pix and when I figure out how to post them I will. thx all for the help
