I am new to the forum and I am considering the purchase of either a Baron VLA or a Verucci Retro sport 150, has anybody had experiece with either of these scoots? They look to be similar scoots, with the exception that the Verucci has 13"wheels and the Baron has 10" wheels. Is the performance and quality of the scoots similar?

I also have found a similar scoot, the sinclair LX, $300.00 less! (Baron and Verucci 1699.00) Whats the difference? specs. seem to be the same except the wheel base, this scoot also comes with a remote start and alarm. I am looking for the most bang for the buck. Any thoughts on these scoots?

He 12 and welcome. These scoots are not all the same. Verucci is actually made by Qingqi (pronounced "cheenchee), which is a State owned factory in China. I think you will find the Baron to be of slightly higher quality than the other two. Don't go just by the best price or you could end up with a piece of crap.

So, in your opinion, the Baron is the best choice of the three? Is there a better choice for the reto look ?

Unfortunately, when it comes to the retro style, you are somewhat limited with your choices. Your only choice up is going to a TnG and after that you are getting into the more expensive brands. Of the lesser priced Chinese models, I think you have a better chance with the Baron.

Diamo has a 50cc and 150cc Retro. Dealer only and the 150 is $2199! But a well built machine with support and warranty. Schwinn makes a Retro 150(graduate)$1999 they look to be excellent considering it's their first year. There's probably more we'll think of them. Aaron www.diamousa.comwww.schwinnscooters.com

Well I bought a Verucci Avispa 150cc and can't comment on it yet whether good, bad, dependable or what since I wasn't able to start it. Probably a bad CDI or coil, a replacement coil is in the mail and will surely update you guys once it's fix. Nice looking scooter though.

Good for you reybern! Man this CDI/coil thing is common with new scoots on here! I hope mine at least runs when it gets here! Good luck with it!

Unfortunately they sent me a different type of coil, not the same as my original one. This coil has only one connector (black) and my original have green and black connectors in them. I called them about it and said they'll send me a new one.
Well, I still tried it, connecting the black to the existing black/yellow wire and the metal with hole in it to a ground and still didn't work. I'm sending it back. How frustrating that is:(

No doubt about it and I'll tell you this, everyday I'm staring at this scooter, man, how I wish didn't have all this problems. Especially reading all the posts here enjoying theirs...
I've also contacted a mechanic to look at it this weekend. Just want this scoot to run.

Hello new member and first time poster. Has anybody ever actually ridden a Baron or Bandit Retro 150cc?? I have heard they are made by the same factory but does anyone know who actualy makes them in China?? I live near Portland, OR and I tried to find the Schwinn 150CC but I was told that they only have 50CC. I looked at the Diamo 150CC at a dealer in Portland, OR and I honestly did not like it. The Bandit/Baron is similar but not the same. I think it might fit my body better since it has a flatter seat. I mean when you hit "mid life" you are not as skinny as when you were 20!! Oh who makes the Schwinn product???

It's almost impossible to keep up with which bikes are made by who. I started trying to keep tabs but then the importer will switch to a different company. I get a lot of positive feedback on Baron but then again, I thought it all looked like the same ol' when I went to the Dealer's Expo.

Midlife, My 2005 Bandit DC150z was manufactured by Taizhou Zhongneng. I don't know if the 2006 Bandits are still being made there.
You could call Bandit (541- 343-7433) to make sure they have the RC150z in stock. If they do maybe you could take a short trip to Eugene to see if the scoot fits.
My Bandit has been a kick in the butt to ride. I have a 99 Harley FXDX that I have done an iron butt on, done the 4 corners of the 48 states, and been to all 48 states (I need to ride to Alaska one of these days). But you should see the smile on my face when I hop on my Bandit scoot with my $9.99 tour pack and go grocery shopping.
C-ya, Bob
