Added a digital tach today to the Baron V3. Wanted to see if the idle adjustments made a few months ago were still holding. Right on so the carb is solid with no drift.
Will be watching rpms with speed. Good accell in the 4000 rpm range and thats only half throttle.

The tach is a tinytach the 2C model for single and vtwins. It is a self contained induction digital tach that is beyond easy to install and it works. It is battery operated, will last about 5 years. Costs $36.95. Has two wires. The red one is the induction coil, just wrap it 4 times around the spark plug wire. The white wire is the ground. Just attach it to any screw to metal frame. That's it. Does not require splicing, does not draw from the bike battery, (does not have a night light). And use double face tape to stick somewhere up front where you can see it. www.tinytach.com/tinytach/gasoline.phpStandard Tiny-Tach™ * Simple hour meter with tachomter. * RPM to 9,990. * Option available to reset the hour meter. * Different models for different engine types. * Updates every 2 seconds. * Standard wire length is 6 feet. * Estimated battery life is 5+ years — not replaceable.

it says it updates every two seconds is that just for the hour meter or the tach as well ? do you notice it being choppy about tach readings ?

It updates the tach every two seconds. Because its digital it tends to be more "choppy" (more accurate) than the needles at idle. +/- 15 rpms but no problems when riding.
