I decided my Yamaha clone just doesn't have enough top end speed. On the freeway into work and home at night on the HOV lane, at 60-65 mph my 257 cc is just about maxed out.
This is the last weekend for the special financing for the Burgman's and other Suzuki models. Found a dealer with a 400 and a 650 in stock. Want the 400-s , the dealer is checking there new stock they got in Monday to see if they have one. The 650 looks good also. Tuff decision to make.
I think it will be the 650. ;D

Dang! I've read where that 650 will cruise 80-90 mph. Kinda stiff price tag though. You getting the Exec. model?

$1000 extra for ABS and electric mirrors is a little too much for my pocketbook.
The only bad thing about the 650 I've been told about is that's its white. But for a 650 I can live with that.

I have been trying to decide to tweak the Longbo 150 or bite the bullet and get a 250.
>> at 60-65 mph << Are you indicating that the GMI260 is not quite up to the published 70mph claim ?

It will do at least 77 mph (friends got to 81 mph on his), its just that on my commute I run at 60-65 mph and its just about all its got. When passing another vehicle in the far right lane where I usually ride, it takes a lot longer than I would like to get around them. Lee, I found a "new" 2005 Silver wing 600 at a good price. What's your opinion of them? Anybody else own or have ridden on one , any feedback will be appreciated.

Don't see how you could go wrong with a Silverwing. Aren't they a little less $ than the Burgman too?

Silver wing is $7950 while Burgman is $7800. The sales manager with the 05 Silver wing said he would let me have it at $100 over their cost ($6700), with tax it would be around $7100. He also said he would drop the shipping and prep charges of $750. I will see what the Dealer with the Burgman can do, if they tack on a bunch of extra charges I may go with the Honda. The Burgman has some things the Honda doesn't have , like a tamper resistant magnetic ignition switch cover, the transmission has a switch for normal, power or manual shift mode and the front brakes are duel rotor. It will come down to the $ most likely.

Personally I would like to be able to cruise around a true 70 to 75mph and have the ability to go up to almost 80 if I need to make a pass but with my little 150cc it won't meet those expectations. Of course I like the price compared to the maxi-scooters but it would be nice if the makers would come out and produce more 250cc to 400cc range scooters.
I know there is a market for that type of displacement and it's mostly because of the speed factor and not the price. If in the rush just crank the trottle and go but for a none rush feel a speed of 55 to 60 is I guess fine, you can enjoy the surroundings better.
My choice is for the Suzuki but the Honda looks sharp too.
