My Baron Retro has been doing some weird thing where when you take off from a stop it starts going and then within a few seconds it sort of jerks and then proceeds to act normally. It does not sound like the RPMs change in response to the jerk. I have checked the condition of the belt and it appears to be in good shape and tight. Is this a symptom of a flat spot on the variator weights? Or maybe something else wrong with the variator? My only response to the problem, other than checking the condition fo the belt, has been to sort of go easy on the throttle until I get past the point where it jerks. This has been going on for a while, so it doesn't worry me a whole lot, but I am hesitant to go on a long trip without knowing what is causing this problem. I am packing a spare belt these days just in case. Should I be packing any other spare CVT parts?
