Here is how I mounted my new MRP 2R exhaust. I constructed a plate to pickup the original mount points. Thep made some spacers/standoffs from 1' aluminum round stock to keep it off the brake caliper and to pickup the provided brackets mounts. The ones on the wheel side of the plate are 1.125" and are bolt thru spacers. The ones between the plate and the provided bracket are 2" and are threaded on both ends.

Hey, that is some nice looking craftmanship. I hope it works as good as it looks.

It's on there, it's tight and it don't move around. It may be a moot point. Have you seen the new Tank Touring SE it appears to have a Vento/UM style swingarm. In a couple of months you may just be able to purchase a new swingarm for $30.

This mount design works perfectly, but the muffler bracket angle will vary depending on the system you use. Also the spacer length can be different depending on the muffler diameter. I cut a notch in mine to avoid the caliper protrusion, which allows me to hold the plate in closer to the swing arm. I don't know the dimensions of Girard's plate, but I used 1/4"x5" material. I also have a template that you can print for making the plate. The link is in the Exhaust System article on my site. www.oregonvintage.com
