I'm going through scooter withdrawal this winter and thought I'd share one of my last rides from this past fall. My wife, myself, and a another couple rented a cabin on Lake Ozawindib in Itasca State Park, MN. For those of you that don't know, Lake Itasca is where the mighty Mississippi river starts. While we were unable to trek the 250 miles to the park from Minneapolis on our scooters due to weather conditions, we did trailer them up. My wife and I rode 2 up on my CF Moto eCharm. The other couple rode 2 up on their Yamaha Majesty. The park offers a wilderness drive that is about 10 miles long. The road is extremely curvy and runs through white and red pines, swamps, lakes, and other scenic areas. While this ride wasn't long distance, I found the road extremely delightful to cruise on doing 30-40mph. (Speed limit is 15 mph.) Though, since we went late in the season we had the park almost all to ourselves. Anyways, if your in MN, I highly recommend exploring the park and the surrounding areas. Here are a few of my photos from that weekend. Our private and pristine lake. From the parks fire tower. Off the beaten path.

Southern MN has some nice riding through the Mississippi river valley as well. I lived 20 years in Lake City, MN, and if you ride around "Lake Pepin" (a wide, slow moving section of the Mississippi), you'll enjoy it tremendously. The only real problem is the wind. It is pretty steady, and can get quite strong! I've never had to fight my machine so much as riding around the lake, but the ride is gorgeous!
Happy scooting!
