ScooterDepot has a new trike 150cc. Reverse trike for $1999. Pretty slick trike where the front tires tilt as one turns. Look cool...

Those are not Trikes they are a poor mans Can-Am Spyder knockoff. Just like the porsche 928 verses a 911, the 928 was a poor mans porsche. Lefty

We went for another ride today and I got the machine up to 55. A little scary for a newbie, but I'm getting there. Checker says he wants me to do no more than what makes me comfortable right now. What are your experiences with increasing speed without putting yourself in peril or feeling like you're in danger?

Triker, Those 300cc can cruise nicely at 60mph with plenty left. Just keep up with traffic and once it is broken in then you can find a nice straight away or tollroad and open it up JUST to see what it will do. Keep the handlebars straight and no sudden turns, at speeds it takes just very little to take a curve on the highway. Lefty

Triker I have one of those as well and it's great. When (you notice I did not say if) it starts to not crank or idle well you will need a valve adjustment. It's easy to do on these new Magnum 300's. There is a panel under the seat to access the intake and you can easily reach the exhaust valve from the bottom. I love mine (thru all the nay sayers)...it's "hardly" a wanna be and it's been a great little trike so far. I've done a lot of mods on mine, for safety mostly. LED light and brake bars and LED (amber) along front fairing. Electric fuel pump and regulator, accessory outlet (to run my GPS) are just a few of the upgrades.

leeinark, have you ever noticed a tinkling sound in the rear when you just get started or let up on the throttle and go again? It kind of sounds like a chain rattling, but it's not the chain. Checker, my husband has looked into it and can't find the source. Do you know what this might be? I love it!!!!!

Triker, Have your husband check the chain guard, especially the rear mount the bolt may have come loose. The chain guards are cheaply made, very thin and poor metal. Also if your have fender rattles put some weather stripping between the fender holders and the fenders, anywhere where the fenders go against metal. edfr

Triker no sound coming from mine like that. Make sure you check all the bolts, nuts and screws very frequently. I have a couple that are repeat offenders about loosening up. I'm starting to loc-tite them now. By the way the cheap little orange reflectors are easily replaced with LEDs from Dynamic Lighting that are easily spliced into your turn signals. You can get dual intensity for running and turning if you desire and they reall light up the trike at night.

Triker, It could also be just your rollers as well, mine rattle but only at Idle. I have played with all kinds of weights and I put in Dr. Pulley 12 gram weights and the rattleing stop for about 1000 miles then the rattleing is back. But that is caused by a little wear and rattleing against the sides of the slides not a problem. Also check to make sure your chain is straight as an arrow with the Rear Sprocket, just a little off and you will hear tinkling until the rotations even it out. Lefty

Congrats on your trike. Hope you get lots of happy riding with it.
I had a Tow Pac trike kit installed on a Honda Silverwing. The Wing is just too big, too tall, and too heavy for me to ride. My legs are just way too short. But I needed something bigger and heavier than my Honda Reflex 250 for riding highways. (Silvano, the Flex, and I get blown around too much on the highway.)
The Wing, (my Mod Quad), is a great highway vehicle. Used it for 3 trips last summer, one to VT, one to NH and one to ME. Really enjoyed the long trips, (2 of them were about 125 miles from home and one was about 350). Got christened for the first time in rain and hail on my way home from ME and had to find a hotel in MA.
This summer I am thinking about a trip from CT to Michigan. I'll stop to see my daughter in Ohio on the way out.

Went cruisin' today for about 50 miles! Got my M endorsement on Thursday, now I'm legal. Got it up to 59 and still felt real good. It seems to like 53. Lots of people come up and ask about it... It happened 3 times today, at the grocery store and a restaurant we stopped at. Had a great time. Still maybe a little timid on the curves, but the more I ride the better I'll be. Lovin' it!

We were out for a ride together over the weekend and doing about 60 down a nice winding farm road and when we pulled into a small town it just died for no apparent reason. I am very very protective over my wife and because of a number of minor problems and then a total break down I (just me) determined the trike wasn't good enough for her. At first I decided to get rid of the Magnum, but have since changed my mind. I'll keep it for myself. Triker now rides a 2010 Can-Am Spyder RS which she is over the moon about.

triker and checker,
Great bye on your part, you shouldn't have any problems now. I was at the Minneapolis Motorcycle show yesterday and when I saw the Can Am display I thought about you guy's. They had a nice tow behind setup that was really sweet. Heck you could even get a camper and really do some adventure riding. Anyway super bye and many many miles to look forward to for you, enjoy.
