I won't post my rant here, but I will post a link to it as it's rather lengthy for forum use. scr.bi/fKieLK

the speedometer hasn't worked since the beginning, it's been throwing an engine code, and on cold start, it keeps stalling and hesitating through the low range. Feels like it runs rich.
also when riding two people.. it backfires, and stalls completely.
I took it to the local dealer where it sat for three weeks while Hammerhead sent them three new speedo gears/ displays and none worked... picked it up from the dealer after three weeks in the same condition it was in when I left it there with a "we've done all we can do".
Now Hammerhead wants me to pay to have it taken it to the dealer 100 miles away.
...and it only has 260 miles on it.

Since it is an EFI, I'm betting it is a computer problem. If so you are at the mercy of the company. EFI running right should be a blessing, EFI going bad, you are going to have a hard time fixing it on your own.
Best of luck to you.

I tried one La Vita from Hammerhead as I am an Adly dealer...I thought it would be of similar quality, but unfortunately it is not. My customer has been in with a variety of problems - speedo not working, loss of speed, backfiring... My mechanic is not very happy with the body panel assembly - very difficult to get to the engine - taking up a lot of shop time to disassemble the body panels for access. Overall a disappointing product. Hammerhead is fine for backup of warranty parts, but all the same we just don't care to sell these bikes because of their quality.

yeah, I was expecting so much more from Hammerhead but they let me down with this bike. It makes me with I would have waited for the Stella 4T. All of those problems you just described are the same on mine.

haven't read anything positive on the La Vita yet....overpriced, should have mirrored the Cali Classic pricing

yea, although the Cali Classic is a much better built bike - SYM quality. I have sold over 150 Cali's and now that we have resolved the gas vent issue, we have not had any mechanical problems whatsoever.

that;s the thing. My Lance Vintage has over 3k miles on it and not one problem so far. It's so frustrating.

Do NOT buy a Chinese scooter, no matter how enticing it looks! The Hammerhead La Vita is a plastic pile of crap. My partner bought one nearly a year ago and the problems started immediately. The first scooter was replaced shortly thereafter, but the problems persisted on the second scooter. Burns oil every 50 - 70 miles, the rear brake assembly mechanism rattles and is about to fall off, the fuel injection system is completely shot, the electrical gage is broken. We had an independent mechanic look at it who said that the "nuts and bolts weren't even tightened during assembly". According to Hammerhead, since the dealer is out of state, we are liable for all the repair costs. We are out the original cost of the scooter, plus shipping, tax, licensing, charges, all costs of repairs (which are expensive) plus daily transportation costs to/from work.
