My Verucci 150 won't start. Previous owner said one day it just wouldn't start. After fixing several other issues, with alot of help from this board Tyvm:) I'm thinking the problem may be the auto-choke gadget.
Bike will start when the air intake is completely blocked and throttle is wide open. It ran at idle and light revving fine for a few minutes, sounds pretty solid actually. Later in the day, several starts later, it needed no throttle. Next day I revved it up a few grand and varied thr throttle somewhat. Did this for a minute or so and when I let off the throttle, it sputtered down to idle then conked out. Currently can't get it to start at all now.
So I've followed the auto choke testing advice from this board (hopefully correctly) and so far:
I can easily push the needle in, but it's very difficult to pull it out even 1/8". The spring seems stuck out. When its attached to the metal support the silver piston is blocking a large portion of the circular port. When I connect the voltmeter leads to the auto-choke plug it reads 13 ohms. Never shows anything lower. I tried every lead/color/wire connection combination. I removed the auto choke from the carb and left it plugged into the wiring harness, turned the key on and waited. After 10+ mins, the needle didn't moved. I don't know if it has to be hooked directly to a battery. I would have to make a wire rig to do that safely.
Sound like a dead auto-choke or should I change testing methods?

Check that you have power to the electrical connection of the harness. If there is power there you need to replace the enricher and everything will be good to go...

Most chokes run from AC voltage supplied by the stator, that being said you need to have the engine running before the choke will work properly. The needle only moves 1/4" so it might be possible you didn't notice it since the movement is so slight. You can test it by applying 12 Volts either AC or DC to the leads and measure the length before and after, if it moves 1/4 inch your fine. My guess is you probably have a vacuum leak, check your intake manifold for leaks as well as all of your vacuum lines.

The spec on the extension is 10mm or about 3/8". Anything less and it is not fully extending.

Sorry I don't, it is what I have in my GY6 database for Keihin style CV carburetor
I have no idea where it comes from...
