Hi I'm new to your forum and scooters in general. I'm planning to order a "Ruckus" style trike hopefully at the very first of the month.
I live in Oklahoma and my Dad and brother live in Cocoa, FL. It's about 1200miles and was wondering if these scooters could do a long trip like that or would the wheels fall off?(so to speak)
The other thing I'm wondering is when I go to buy insurance what is the mfg/make/model of these trikes?

The manufactuer is DAIX, Model it depends most say motorcycle, as far as going 1200 to Flordia I hope its a 300cc model. The 150s will not be safe on highways due to top speed of 50-55mph stock. Alleyoop

It's the 150-8 model is what I've seen. I'd be taking the back roads...yea it'd be a heck of a trip lol. I've done LOTS of traveling, was even a trucker for a while, so long trips dont bother me at all. Just wondering about the durablity. Guessing I'd have to do an oil change when I got there and when I got back?

Alleyoop is especially right about the towing rope. Of the two 150-8 models in this area neither one made it 500 miles before becoming totally inoperative. We are going to try to resusitate one of them Saturday. After it has a few thousand trouble free miles on it (and all the weak parts are replaced) it might make it.

thanks for the info guys, if all goes well I'll order my scooter next friday. There's plenty of small paved country roads for me to roam around on to break it in. I live near the Oklahoma/Texas boarder by Lake Texoma. Lots of cycle riders, lots of roads to cruise!

You don't pick one of these up and put it in the back of the truck like you do a regular scooter--it is even a PITA even with a ramp and 2 good men!!!
Wolf was riding his up a wide home-made ramp about 2 weeks ago when the ramp slipped and he ended half in the truck and half hanging out. We were lucky as it could have been bad. Nobody was hurt and no damage was done. I should have gone in and checked my blood pressure--I bet my pressure was a record.
