I have a Zhejiang Huawin magnum 150L scooter. I just bought in on Saturday from my boos. It is a 2008 with only 240 miles on it. It stalled on my way to work on Sunday and it won't start. When my friend looked at it..he said it is not getting fuel to the fuel filter. He sucked on a vacuum line and it got fuel to the filter and then it ran. Does anyone this make of scooter and have pictures of the motor that shows where all the vacuum hoses go? I do know that my boss bought it used and maybe the previous owner had this issue and tried to fix it but didn't secure the hose. Some hoses didn't have clamps on them. Any suggestions? This is my only way to work without bumming a ride from my neighbor and I work 11 miles one way from work. So as you can see, this scooter is my salvation..Please Help.

Where is the filter? Is it just after the gas tank in the fuel line?
There is a silver thing attached to the left side frame by the carb called a petcock in the fuel line of most scooters. It could also be mounted in the tank where the fuel comes out
The gas does into it and then out of it to the carb. The Petcock is just a shut off for the gas and it has a third hose on the centre that is a vacuum line.
Make certain all hoses are on very well and fasten them with small zip-ties. Pull them very tight with pliers...much better than those spring clips
When the engine starts the vacuum opens the petcock valve and allows gas to flow. They often go bad and don't work. I would check it first.
You might consider replacing it with a manual shut-off from a lawn mower or something.

I have the exact same year and model scoot as you the zhejiang magnum 150 and I am having the exact same problems! I got around 3000 kilometers on my bike and every once in a while the bike sputters and dies after going two blocks. The only way the bike will re-start is to suck on the vacuum line coming off the black canister filter. I have checked my vacuum lines all over but am going to replace the petcock to see if that is my problem.

Also check venting of the tank, you can crank the cap a little loose and see if that helps. Some tanks have a vent hose as well others just have a hole on top of the cap which could be clogged. Alleyoop

I think it probably is the problem. When you suck on the line it is causing a vacuum in the whole system. I also had another problem.
Whoever mounted the petcock, mounted it so it was sticking up in the air from the mounting on the frame. This brought the petcock higher than the bottom of the gas tank, so when I got down to 1/4 tank of gas, the engine starved for gas and quit.
All I had to do was to undo the bolt and turn the petcock facing downward and the problem went away.
So, it is sometimes the very little things that make a difference...
I also found that the gas cap was hellish tight, so I simply pried the locking flanges on the cap a very small amount. Now it is easy to get on and off, and I suspect it lets in a bit of air but the gas doesn't leak...

I have been running my bike with the cap loose not screwed on tight but no help. The cap dont seem to have any kind of vent on it.

Sprocket, I am wondering if this is how my petcock is because I know its mounted high on the frame but it is how it came from the factory. I really hope its the problem because its a good scooter but I am afraid to ride it since it keeps braking down on me on the way to work. I know if it happens though I just need to suck on that line to get vacuum. It seems like the bike always does this after a half tank of gas or less.

Mine was like that from the factory too. I wanted to shoot it!!!
Try turning the petcock down and if that doesn't work then undo it and zip fasten it lower on the frame. Just be certain the gas and vacuum lines are not kinked. If you have trouble with kinking, then you can buy a door spring for a screen door and pull it out so there is about 1/2" between coils. Then snip off a length and thread the fuel and vacuum line through the spring. One spring to each line. No more kinking!!
They used to do this on chinese scooters back awhile, but have stopped to save money...

I cant wait to go home and try this out. I would be so happy if this fixes the problem. I have ben so fed up with it I was ready to sell it. I think the petcock sits way too high considering it is a bit higher than the bottom of the gas tank. And it would make sense why it happens when my gas gets to that level why it happens. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
