Hi, I just got a brand new Peace (Bashan) Scooter from Green Earth Scooters. It is the Sportster 50 model and has some stickers/decals on the sides and front that I don't like. I tried to peel off one of the stickers and it took off one full layer, but there seemed to be something else underneath it. I couldn't tell if it was painted on there or if it was another sticker that had been sealed using resin or something. Does anyone have any experience in dealing with this or know a way I can remove these stickers? They say "VIP" and "Future Champion", not my cup of tea. Thanks for any help! BTW, I saw some mixed reviews of Green Earth on here and my experience was fine. Bike started easily after the oil and gear oil change and all the screws were very tight during my PDI. Just thought I'd ad my two cents. Got the scoot up to 35 mph easily on flat ground and faster downhill. Attachments:

You might try a heat gun/hair dryer gun to warm up the glue and usually they will peel off. Direct the heat onto one corner of the decal and after a short time you should be able to lift that corner. Then continue to direct the heat at the point where the decal is on the bike and it should facilitate lifting the decal off. Most of the time there isn't any glue left to worry about when done this way. Good luck. Garyr

Use a hair dryer and warm up the stickers. They should be able to be pulled off gently when heated up to soften the glue underneath.

You can also try WD-40 or Goo Gone. Don't use Goof Off, it will melt the plastic.

I don't blame you for wanting that crap off. Don't know why they garbage up what would be a nice looking scooter like that. You may be dealing with 2 complete sets of stickers one on top of the other. What the chinese do some times is with out rhyme or reason, at least to our way of thinking. I really believe they could sell more scooters if they left all of the markings off and included what they think we should have in an envelope for us to put on if we so desired. One 250cc I was looking at and considering had similar awfull crap stuck on it and would probably had to have a complete paint job to be satisfying to me, That and the missing MSO's caused me to look locally and I bought a used majesty. .john Ditto what John said. I have one supplier, Coolster, that puts the decals and stickies in a plastic bag along with the owners manual. Once the customer removes the mandatory CPSC labels...whats left is one really beautiful quad.

I understand that NAPA carries decal remover for auto repair shops. The heat gun is good but watch out for damage to the plastic.

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone. Heres what I ended up figuring out. Each sticker was surrounded by a small "lip" of plastic. So I couldn't just come at the stickers from the side since they were essentially inset into a plastic mold. After digging my nail between the plastic boarder and the sticker, I was able to get it up. I didn't use heat or chemicals yet. I will need some goo-gone for the residual stickiness, but all and all not bad. There is a photo attached to show what it looks like. It isn't clear, but you can see the outline of the letters even after the sticker are gone. Those are all the plastic lip that went around each one. I think i am going to hit it with some sand paper to try to make it less noticeable. The paint is different where the stickers were, less shiny, but the bumps make it stand out more. Attachments:

Sand it out then hit the whole panel with clearcoat... I need to do that with the stupid "Speed" decals on the front of the Roketa. Either that or add a "Lo-" in front of it!

Tried to sand it out, turns out that I must have been wrong. Sanding it out ended up taking off the paint around the whole area (so a clear coat wouldn't fix that) It might have been that they put a clear coat around the sticker so that the sticker was "inset" with a clearcoat around it. So now I have a spot that is lacking paint. I am debating spraying over with silver paint, but I know it won't look the same. Not really sure what else to do.

I thought about buying one of these but the stickers were the deal breaker. Future champion of what??? VIP?
Somebody in their marketing department should be looking for a new job!
I thought about buying one and taking the stickers off...not as easy as I thought! Thanks.

A lot of the decals are clear coated over them. You have to take an xacto knife around all the edges and carefully peel them off. Then lightly sand the edge that is left and spray clearcoat on the area where the decal used to be.
