interesting - that newrivercyclesalvage url was dead this morning - I got it from a 4 year old goldwing post. But I have found new glass in many sizes for $0.88 on www.esslinger.com. I have to get a more accurate measurement tonight. Roughly 16.3mm, but I'll know more when I remove the broken bits. I haven't discovered whats int he newriver kit - I have emailed to find out.

I recently ordered 16.5x 2mm Glass for my scoot...I have not attempted to change them yet, but look like they will be a snug fit. Paid about $8 with shipping. My concern was bleeding the brakes after I change the glass. Esslinger is where I ordered and shipping was quick.

I thought about the 2.. or 1.5mm but it seems all the motorcycle forums use/suggest 1mm thick, various diameters. After I cleaned the hole, (on 7-25-11) I ordered 16.1mm X 1mm, 4 of them, and a 10X loop and headband, shipping was about $9 UPS, and I should have the package tomorrow afternoon. (7-27-11) I have to choose an adhesive. I have Permatex black RTV. I would like some of those easy bleeder screws, which I don't have, but I Have mity-vac and a bleeder check valve.
Looking at the fluid I removed, I will bleed out the other brake also, even before I replace that sight glass too. Dirty water, not brake fluid is what it appears to be.

For the sight glass replacement, I used Ultra Black on Wednesday, let it set for 24 hours, filled and bleed the front brake Thursday. Rode to work on Friday, so far, so good. I should have ordered a pair of 16.2mm (an assortment of a few sizes in one shipping charge would have made sense) - the 16.1mm are a nice fit, but not tight. I didn't really check if there was any clearance.

Unlit dashboard is probably a plug or a ground wire.. squeaky brakes .. you may be at the wear limit and should replace the pads...

my front squeaks at low speed until I apply the brakes.
if you try to chamfer the leading and trailing edges of both pads, and use some anti-squeal goop - not much or it will drip.
you could also try to deglaze the pad and rotor faces
