Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you have had any dealings with the Ruckus style trikes? I wanted to get a 300cc trike, but due to school going up, I'm going to have to use my trike money for classes However, do you guys think this is a ok scooter? I want to use it to get around town, and sometimes maybe go to the beach. I would like to haul a trailer behind it with no more then a 120lb load. Sometimes I have a passanger. Since this trike seems to be the cheapest of the trikes I've looked at would this work do you think? I don't mind staying off the toll roads / interstates, and doing only backroad driving so to speak, but most roads do at least 55mph. Would this keep up with that? I have a 150cc right now, (2 wheels) and since eagle150, helped me tune it up a bit it'll do about 50-55mph. I don't want to go any slower then that. Thanks everyone for your time!

It looks interesting - especially for a beach environment. In all honesty, I'm wanting a trike as well. I have a 150 scoot, but ended up buying a used Burgman 400 to supplement the speed I wasn't getting from the 150. I live in the Houston, Tx Metro area and was nervous about the 55-60 top speed. I considered buying a 250 and figured what the heck, buy something that's easy on the highway, so I did. Given the speed of the 150s, I don't know that I'd even buy a 150 trike. It would be good for around town, but that would be it. On some roads in town its speed (or lack of it) might make you nervous. As for the 300s, I'd say the jury is still out. China has come a long ways in their qualiy issues, but they always seem to have problems with product they are just introducing. I think I would enjoy my scoot and wait until you can truly afford it before you bought the trike. JMHO
Somehow or another, I'm thinking a Burgman 650 triked is somewhere in my future. A Touring Triked Scooter - probably doesn't get any better than that.

There were a couple of people with the Ice Bear Rukus Trike. One is called Wolfhound he moved to www.powerscooters.org/cgi-bin/discuss/YaBB.pl Forum. The other was on here so you might want to do a Search for Rukus or something. I have the Ice Bear PST150H Trike. Out of the Crate the 150s do 50-55mph (Depending on what Tire Diameter they come with on the 10" rims). But you can get them to go faster with Say a Dr. Pulley Variator or Prodigy Variator and changing weights. I have the Prodigy Variator running 11G Sliders but I also replaced the Tires with Load Star Kenda Tires 205/60x10 which are 3" taller than what the Trikes come with and gives you 5-8 MPH more top end depending on what tires it comes with. The Tires are DOT approved rated at max load of 907lbs each and 81mph rating. They are Trailer Street tires with Street threads. Mine is running 60-62 Mph at WOT at 7300rpms. Thats about as fast I want to be going:) Alleyoop

Thanks, Alleyoop That's about as fast as I want to be going to! I'm going to do some more research, but I'm really leaning into the 150cc's not since I could do a lot of upgrades for the extra $$ they want for a 300cc.
