My trike is being stubborn. I finally took it on a long ride. Dayton to Cincinnati. 60 plus miles . It was terrible. Going about 40 down a country rode and I hear something hit the road. Pulled over to check it out. Its the chain guard is gone. My question is.. Can I run it without one? If not how do I replace it?

You could run without it but it will sling oil everywhere and not to mention that it can be a hazard should any part of your clothing get between the chain and the sprocket. You should be able to order the part and replace it. Either the screws holding it on loosened up and fell out or the bracket that holds it broke due to vibration. I'd replace it but in the mean time you can probably ride it just be careful!

There is no way you can get your cloths caught, it way under the Trike and behind the Muffler right next to the engince case. The chain guards are crap, me and my brother in law have the PST150H trikes and they both broke and we just took them off. The chain does not have much oil on them and thats the least of grease flinging. The differential with the heat will make the greas inside almost water and it will start flinging it out. The Chain Guard is useless we have not had them on for about 6 months. Alleyoop
