Hi Jimmyiz, Welcome to SD.
Very Nice pictures, Trike looks good in white. And your right the chain guard is garbage I had mine welded and it broke again so I just threw it out. Also had the muffler welded, loose rivets plus leaking all around. I see you put on a Uni straight onto the Carb, did you have to re-jet the carb. Well a couple more months and hopefully we all should have good weather and be able to go on long riding trips. Alleyoop

Great Pics there Jimmyz! I noticed in photo no 28 and 29 you have the same little flecks of grease or something on your tranny that I do. Mine is also on the underneathside of my storage box. Any idea what that might be for sure and where it may be coming from?

About the grease spots "IF" it actually is grease, check your differential and see if the grease nipple is still on and or if the two halfs are on tight and not letting grease squirk out of the differential. Back there that is the only thing that actually has grease, nothing else is greased up back there. Alleyoop

If this grease is partly from the differential, should I be concerned?

aileronjack, Yes you should look at it. Like I said it could just be that the grease nipple came off, which is not so bad. But if the bolts holding the two differential halfs are loose, then that could cause a problem. If it loosen enough that cause problems with the spider gears inside not meshing correctly. Alleyoop

YO DAWG's The grease from the differential probably isn't from differential coming loose, it's from the 2 spider gears & the shaft.. The shaft that holds the 2 spider gears, & goes through both side of the differential body walls.. As the differential gets warm, grease works into where the 2 ends of the shaft goes through differential body walls, & as it does this & as the differential spins it flings small amount of grease..

Dwild62, Yes that could also be the cause of the splattering of grease. But I still recommend checking your differential bolts for tightness because on mine one NUT actually came off one of the bolts holding the two halfs together and some were loose. Naturally I had to take the bolt to the hardware store to get a nut that would fit. Better save than sorry. Alleyoop
