Well, I have put it all back together on my MC-54-250B. The clatter I noticed while all panels were off is just as bad and noticeable with everything back on. I was hoping it was just something that sounded different without the covers on. Wrong...
I will try and post a video in the next few days with the sound. It seems to be coming from the engine block and does get faster as the RPMs go up. I did many things to the bike since I took it off but it certainly started up after I did the following;
Changed the gear oil, changed to iridium spark plug, adjusted the valves, cleaned the cvt belt (without getting at the variator)
Could changing from a OEM spark plug to the iridium do this?
Also, while I was adjusting the valves i noticed the rocker bar on the intake (top) valve had an very slight movement to it. Could this be it? I thought I tighten it enough, but maybe not. Is it maybe bent and smashing around?
