Heads up means My 260 is up against a Work out 650 Burgman? I really think Bracket would work better based on the Classes. I have a 70cc 2T a 150cc 4t and a 260 - we want to race but the 70 is Heads up against a 99? my 150 is up against a 170 and our 260 is against a ? Bottom line - 10hour drive to compete is not making sense although I would love to. The classes seem a bit off if they are heads up.

The way I see it is. If you want to start out slow thats what the 4 stroke classes are for. Once you step into the 2 stroke arena we expect you have the knowledge you need to be competitive. I know a guy named Overrev that wins his 99cc class with a 70cc kit every year. If you know how to tune a 2t you understand that sometimes a longer stroke can hurt you in a 1/8 mile. The 250+ class can be split up if there is enough interest to do it that way. At this time your the first entry in the class. You can count on this being a first rate event that you wont want to miss if your serious about scooter tuning. We are also looking for sponsors if your shop wants to get involved.
edit* You will notice there are no stock classes, we wanted it that way. If your coming to race lets race.

The 250 plus class was really my biggest concern. I think you are very right on the 2t. Hey is the Honda DN-01 considered a scooter? Maybe I'll bring that for the 250 up class ;D

The 250 plus class was really my biggest concern. I think you are very right on the 2t. Hey is the Honda DN-01 considered a scooter? Maybe I'll bring that for the 250 up class ;D Come run Exhibition Class with us... That is if I can make it. Besides I'll be bringing a 72cc Peace also, Looks like I'm my own driver, and I weigh in at 255lbs, as of today! IF, I can make it....thats the plan. So bring it on Class 1A will be a ball. This first race is to solidify national level sponsors anyway. Come on out, help secure the scooter racing future, and just have fun.

Kliff, We can caravan up together if you like. I won't be able to solidify plans till about a week prior to the event. But that sounds cool to me, I'll be headed that way on the Friday before the race if all is well. Latest pic of the exhibitionist...

Come see me in the bar at the Brown County Hotel. First beer's on me. Night of the 30th and the night of the 1st. Leaving Dodge on the 2nd. PS. I just called them this minute and made reservations. All she said to me was "Ok". I said," Ma'am, don't I have a reservation number or anything"?. "No", she replied. "Your good to go". I made her swear. LOL PPS. O yeah dude. Where's my free T-Shirt?? At the track? And I looked at Nashville on Google Earth. It looks like my town in the 60's. Before a 150'000 Yankees moved down here. Nothing real personal folks. But I really like my town much better when it was a town. Air conditioning was the ruin of the South. hehe Beautiful looking place Enviro. Any of you fellow scooterist have just got to come and run. It's not about winning, although it would be nice, it's about fun. And as we all know, there ain't no shame in fun. On the other hand. In the famous words of Dale Earnhardt, after he came in 2nd in the Daytona 500, second is only the first looser. RD

Come see me in the bar at the Brown County Hotel. First beer's on me. I'm picturing a cheesy Elvis lounge act, a bunch of guys sitting at the bar talking about racing their SCOOTERS and a really confused bartender. Good times. ;D

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE/PRURGENT First Annual Twist and Gone Scooter Racing Event to be Held in Brown County Indiana INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, April 23, 2010: Twist and Gone, the first scooter racing event hosted by the North American Scooter Racing Association (NASRA), is scheduled to take off May 1 at the Brown County Dragway in Nashville, Indiana. Scooterists from across the country will race heads-up in a variety of classes, ranging from 72cc to the unlimited sprinter. An exhibition “King of the Hill” race invites scooters of all skill levels to compete for ultimate pride and glory. “It all began when a group of local Indianapolis gear heads decided to build drag race scooters, hoping to find a track or an abandoned back road to race,” explains Jeremy Hall, founder of NASRA. After active participation in their community and online forum, the members formed competition classes, rules and safety structures. In addition to the races, spectators can take advantage of vendors at the swap meet. Not restricted to scooter items, crafters are encouraged to participate as well. Racer check-in begins at 8am, general admission gates open at 9. Racing starts at noon. Racer registration is $45 for the first class, $20 each additional class. Vendor spaces are $25. General admission $8. Children 12 and under are free. Friday night ride planned around Lake Lemon. Camping available at Bill Monroe Campground Saturday night with after party hosted by the Kentuckiana Scooter Club. Please visit twistandgone.com for more detailed information. NASRA Formed in 2009, NASRA is an organization dedicated to promoting the sport of scooter racing within the United States. By creating distinct competition classes, NASRA has standardized the scooter racing industry nationwide. All racing organizations are encouraged to partner with NASRA. Together, we can develop a broader scooter racing culture within the United States. Contact: Jeremy Hall NASRA 317-856-5171 Twistandgone@gmail.com scooter-racing.net###
