has anyone else "eliminated" their rear fender that sticks down from the frame?
i took mine off because i couldn't see any purpose for it other than looking stupid (i figured it kept debris from coming up and htiting the rider, but after looking at it, there is very little dirt or anything on it, seems like everything gets thrown straight forward onto the small guard in front of the tire....
i'm going to make a guard for the bottom of the tank and the wireing out of thin metal (ok, actually a couple of metal "for sale" signs with the shiny side down.....
it looks a lot better now with the fender taken off, the look flows so much better.....

I bobbed the tail on my scoot, with a dremel cutting wheel. Left the license plate light, and cut out all the other plastic. I now get a ton of over spray on the back part of my seat. Just what I deserve for being overzealous with my power tools! I will be 'floating' my license plate with aluminum flat stock, mounting it to the tank strap, so the plate will end up just below the light, where it originally was. It SHOULD eliminate most of the spray, but who knows? I'm painting my tank strap gloss black to match the tank also.

my scoot is a 50 so i do not have to have a plate, but if i end up having a problem with spray on the seat and/or my back, i will just make the guard i'm making stick down about 2 inches to stop most of it......

My Morphous received a fenderectomy when I installed the LED brake light and bracket. The mod wouldn't fit with the fender. There's a close fitting fender that keeps the spray down so the fender I removed doesn't make a difference in the wet. It sure is cleaner looking now. There are pictures at my Photobucket page that you can see from my blog. See the link in my signature and the link ot my P'bucket account in on the right side.
