Well, my scooter parts arrived from across the globe, and I began the 'upgrades'. I've returned to my younger days, as a shadetree mechanic, back when cars were without computers to tell them what to do. The carb and timing told them what to do, and here I am back listening to my motor again.
I would like to thank EVERYONE here at Scoot Dawg. I was able to log on and find pictures, threads and even manuals and links to important sites that shared a wealth of information. I also would like to point out to the other noobs that if you can't find it here, just ask, and you will be overwhelmed with friendly information.
- I used the homemade variator removal tool that I learned how to build here.
- I got tons of info about parts removal from a great thread on mods and upgrades, just by looking through the pictures.
- I modded my muffler, after realizing that it wasn't as hard as I thought. All from threads found here.
- I ordered the right size roller weights, after reading through threads talking about rider weight and expected results.
- I found information about an oil breather, which I will be experimenting with soon.
- I downloaded a printed a full scooter manual.
- I learned that my carb is less complicated than I thought.
- I learned that my carb is MORE complicated than I thought. ;-)
- I also learned that you can still find good people in this world.
My hats off to you, Dawgs. The information here has proved invaluable. I wanted to show that if you become part of this forum, you can find just about anything you want. My sincere thanks.
Special shout outs to tp555, earlwb, sin,(your post saved my life) berzerker for his awesome scooter pics and inspiration, Dawg for starting this thing and all the moderators for putting up with my stupid taglines. I think I'll stick around this place, if it's okay.
