While looking for parts recently, I ran across these pictures. How do you synchronize 3 engines and keep them from fighting each other? There have been many times that I wish I had one of these. I think that is a side car where the gun is mounted. Don't know what kind of engine that is, but wish I had one! Future scooter riders? Well, maybe one at least (the one that's smiling).

Great pics. I love the super wagon too. My all time favorite is the wooden motorcycle as shown here: When it comes to tuning lots of engines, once you can tune two engines then 48 KH250 engines coupled together is only a little more complicated: More on it here: www.bigbikeriders.com/48cyl.htmthey have a video of it there too. Dolmar's a while back commissioned the building of this chainsaw powered bike named the Dolmette for marketing purposes: here is a video music to my ears: www.youtube.com/watch?v=umZpn610AkE&eurl=http://www.bornrich.org/entry/worlds-first-chainsaw-powered-motorcycle/The motorcycle is powered by 24 DOLMAR chainsaw engines and it uses a 5-speed Harley-Davidson transmission by a series of twelve toothed belts to deliver 5.2 kW of power (7.1 PS) at 10,000 rpm. The deadly beast churns-out a top speed of 125 kW when all 24 engines are combined. I still have a soft spot for the cute mini-sized chopper too:

Unbeknownst to most people, was they used to have a number of Steam Engined powered motorcycles many years ago. They still show up every now and then as people create new ones. The Hudspeth Steam Bicycle is probably one of the neatest ones around. www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~pattle/nacc/arc0373.htmThe Hubbard Steam Powered cycle. www.ctamachinery.com/SteamcycleHome.htmlSome early designs are shown here: www.dself.dsl.pipex.com/MUSEUM/TRANSPORT/steambike/steambike.htmThis one gets a steam engine lover all turned on too: www.steamcar.net/field.htmlTalk about having a complex running arrangement and constant tinkering and adjusting and fixing stuff. Steam motorcycles are probably the hardest thing to keep going. You have to fire up the boiler, build up a good head of steam, then open the release valve carefully and start putting off, while maintaining a a good water level (not too much or it cools down the boiler), and you have still to oil or lube stuff too. But they are just so neat though. Tons of bragging rights with these. Even Jay Leno has a custom built steam motorcycle too.

Wow -- what cool wierdness! The wooden-framed bike looks truly terrifying ... a sidecar with a machine gun would be damn useful in traffic, bet no one crowds that guy ... and I'd betcha that's a Honda Rebel, not a "Harley Sportster 1200" with the little engine in it. No way is that a Sporty frame, tank, seat, or front end; sure looks like my old Honda Rebel, though.
The steam bikes were cool, if a tad impractical for most of us; but one can't help but consider the "alternative" approach, for two-wheelers. Now, if I could find a small diesel engine that didn't look ridiculous, I could run it on french-fry oil (and an additive from dieselsecrets.com, a site I strongly recommend. (Did I spell "diesel" right? that's kinda mandatory...)

The 'Gatling gun' on the side car is the venerable M134 Minigun, 7.62 mm (30 cal.) @ 4,000 - 6000 rounds per minute rate of fire, depending on ammo type and limiters. The weapon is also known as the GAU-17, Just in case anyone really was curious. This is classified as a 'light machine gun' in military parlance. Similar configurations utilize much more devastating ammunition: GAU-12, 25 mm Gatling gun GAU-8, 30 mm Gatling gun (cannon) 'Avenger' DU rounds (DU=depleted uranium)

This one is good. I love it. I wonder if we can make one street legal or not? A ultimate dual purpose scooter. The Lamberd brothers pulled off triple-digit mph runs at the Bonneville Salt Flats on their unique stand-up scooters. 500cc Honda water cooled engine:
