Today marks one year on the road for the Motofino 125CC retro. It is now at almost 5500 miles, I've been keeping track with the GPS until I can replace my speedo cable.
I replaced the starter relay, it drowned out when I hit a big puddle. Put in an NGK plug, too.
I replaced the OEM Bando belt at 2780 miles, as a precaution. I installed a "Kevlar Racing Belt" that crapped out after 1590 miles, without warning, wrapped cords all around my kick starter, and jerked it hard enough to slightly bend the kick starter shaft. I put the OEM belt back on, ran it until 4530 miles, then put on a new Bando belt and installed new rollers. I do believe in Bando belts!
The front mount for the inner rear fender broke away from the muffler, the fender dumped, left a hole in the muffler. Later, the rear mount, which wasn't holding anything, also fell off, another hole in the muffler. This muffler design may be the weakest part on the entire scooter, it should have a rolled seam, not a weld, and the fender mounts need to be redesigned.
The intake manifold cracked, they all will, sooner or later.
When the scooter was delivered I went over it looking for loose stuff, there wasn't any. I have never replaced any fuel or vacuum hoses, never needed to adjust the valves, no oil leaks and it burns almost no oil at all. It is still a tight running little engine, very little mechanical noise.
The Duro brand tires are wearing well, still got some life in them.
The good points about this scooter outweigh the bad points, by a big bunch. I'd buy another one without hesitation.
