Good Evening all Scootdawgs from old it's raining again Arkieland! Man we a re starting to push that record for yearly rainfall! going to have to wade the mud to dig my sweet potatoes! LOL
This weekend turned off pretty though especially Saturday and just couldn't keep from taking a scooter ride up on Petit Jean Mountain and the State Park located up there I knew it would not only be a fun ride but a beautiful one also as the fall colors are really starting to show here in the Natural State!
This is Arkansas' First State park and it's a beauty and only 20 minutes from my house!
www.petitjeanstatepark.com/
It has a lot of history all the way back to the 1700's with it's folklore and story!
So without further a do here's some pictures!
On the way to the mountain and some of the fall colors and Petit Jean from a distance!
All views from the top of the Petit Jean lookout where Petit Jean's grave site is!
The grave of the young lady!
From the top one can see the valley and old man river the mighty Arkansas River!
From there you leave and head into the State Park itself!
The fall colors are breath taking!
Up in the park is one of my favorite fishing holes Lake Bailey!
Lot's of campers still at this time of year even with the night temps this weekend getting to the low 40's!
If camping isn't your thing then they have lot's of cabin rentals also!
An old pioneer cabin to look at how it was long ago!
Next stop Cedar Falls Outlook!
Walk ways to the outlook!
Looking over the outlook and just beautiful!!
The Ozarks in the background!
The man that started it all! Again one of the prettiest places around one you will remember long after ya leave!! JRR
