running like a champ, I think it might be idling a little fast when cold, but hard for me to set idle with no tach, and I don't know what 2k RPM on a scooter sounds like.

I have to admit I just kind read over your comment about the booster seat earlier today. My dad asked me to email him pics of the scoot so as I was sending the pics I just happened to look at that pic with the booster seat behind it and I broke out laughing. That is freaking funny.

Well here I am - I posted that I was ordering in early October..Ordered - had the scoot sent to my house further South in Fl... Billing was flawless - Shipping was quick ( i did pay the "quick fee" ) well worth the small extra. The crew at old Dominion from the dispatcher to delivery were flawless... no complaints .. ordered on tues - shipped on Wed - in Ft Myers on Fri out for delivery on Monday. Received the crate - after removing the cardboard.. drivers insistence before mine... we looked over all and everything appeared undamaged. He took off and I went about the task of separating the parts from the bubblewrap. The unassembled parts included, front fender, front wheel, mirrors, rear parcel carrier, front fairing ( large part encompassing the headlights, etc.) Except for one scratch, minimal - all else was fine.. Then the neighborhood showed up - after replacing the lines and replacing the clips with s/s screw clamps, I looked for the other PDI items...coil placed ok, Carb line and screw lock tighted, all electrical fittings tight, missing the clip on front light fitting, improvised hold fine.. Started reassembling - all went together pretty good... by now the neighbors were rewarded with adult beverages and I decided to continue the next morning. Tuesday AM - die hard Harley neighbor was there at 8 to drain and fill the fluids.. All replaced as per PDI - battery was charged.... we were ready to go... .... Here I go toggle on - key - on - stand up, ...nothing.. hmmm - then I remember - brake interlock - held the brake on and 4 seconds later - she started and ran pretty good. Decided to give her a run around the block... up to 25 mph - ran fine, a little thrashy sounding, but pulled fine, no misses , no brake issues, all lights, horn , etc are fine. I put 30 miles on the scoot before heading back to Tampa in my car , unfortunately someone neglected to tie their living room furniture down on their truck on I 75 Tues night - so myself and 9 others were treated to slamming living room furniture at 75 MPH - needless to say car was trashed but passengers OK.... So after 5 days of Ins issues I can take time to type!! Observations.. Company.. GreenEarthScooters... What can I say, great phone response, quick shipping, answered all emails, service and tech support immediate - good company - good people.. The Scoot - apparently Basham / peace powersports... packaged well, more assembly then I expected...but went together well... Some parts are misaligned... the steering assembly is around 1 inch off from center so you think you are going to the right when actually going straight.... The mp3 storage cover over the speaker, is ill fitting sticking out around 3/8 inch... The brakes are good, the starter is good, starts right up - minimal wait time to warm up, motor sounds buzzy for want of a better word, but I assume that this is the way these litt'l 4 strokes sound.. the frame is perfect for my 6 ft 225 frame, however harley neighbor at 5'6" cannot rest feet on the ground. Works for me, that's what counts. MIrrors do not really show much behind the operator, left mirror is not adjustable down to visualize the area behind driver. BUT the folks at GES immediately offered to replace under warranty - more than fair... but I am going to try a spacer when I get back after t-day... I was expecting a potential problem... SO FAR - I am more than satisfied.. hope the motor sounds better over time - but may be that is what it is supposed to sound like.. For $789 delivered with MP3 capability - its a friggin bargain.. Thanks for listening to my rambling.. here she is... Attachments:

Hey Piratz, I'm completely happy with my GES Bashan, too. Have a couple stripped muffler bolts to replace, but I can handle that... I do wish I could adjust the mirrors down further, I can't really quite see behind me unless I sit on the upper / back seat. I did have to move the exhaust thingy outta the way of my coil, but there was a nice little tab to stick it on the frame away from my coil, so that was easy enough, thanks to the earlier posts with pics by thematchclub.
I'm sure I probably pushed it too hard for a first ride, but I did work it up to around 63mph on about 1/4 mile straightway, nice winding neighborhood road let me play with throttle and brakes... I just can't wait till next Tuesday when I come home with registration, insurance, and moto-endorsement!

MIrrors do not really show much behind the operator, left mirror is not adjustable down to visualize the area behind driver. That is why I personally hate the lighted mirrors. If one ever breaks, just replace both with the non lighted ones. Problem gone! Grats and glad you guys like your bikes!

Question for the Green Earth Guys, tstubbs or themathclub: when are you gonna get things squared away with North Carolina DOT so I can buy one of your 150's. I was all set to pull the trigger on one the day before yesterday and then I saw the fine print in the listing stating you can't sell in NC. DRAT! Dave

DRAT! Dave I was recently surfing Green Earth Scooters and if I had some cash I'd pick up a little 50cc job for my niece or nephew. Their prices are competitive and they seem to get good reviews here. Now that I know what's involved in a Chinese scoot, I probably would have bought online. Magna99: Not to divert this thread too much, but since you are unable to buy from Green Earth Scooters, drive down to Matthews, NC and checkout Carolina Fun Machines. That's where I bought my Znen 150cc. It is great scoot so far. They should be a good option for you. Disclaimer: I don't work for Carolina Fun Machines, nor am I affiliated with them in any way. I am not a paid endorser. I just thought they would be a good option. Turtle8; Thanks...I've been there several times, Tim and Eric seem like good guys. I originally wanted a Lance Phoenix but they're out of stock until early March, and while they just got some Jonways in, none of them suit me. I'm 6'1" and about 260 and need something with some legroom.
I found an equivalent scoot to the Green Earth MP08-150 today at another local dealer for a decent, if not great, price, and bought it. Hope it's at least halfway decent quality. I oughtta be scootin' next week!

Good to hear, Dave!
I've had my 150cc for about a month. It has 269 miles on the odometer. I wish I had gone for a 250cc, but now I can't afford to upgrade.

Thanks...the dealer says he already did one, but I intend to take a close look at the scoot when I get it home anyway...I'll probably change out some stuff like fuel filter and lines just to be safe...If I need anything, I'll give ya a holler! Well, I'm only gonna use mine for tootling around town, so I don't figger I need anything bigger. For the highways I've got my Suzuki C50T.... Dave Attachments:

Dave,
That's the same frame/body style as mine.
Mine will hold 45-50 mph easily. I had it up to 55mph (indicated 60mph) briefly yesterday, but I wouldn't want to commute to Charlotte on it. I could take the surface streets and back roads, but it just wouldn't be comfortable. Besides, I want something with more oomph to fight off traffic.

GS Motorworks was just bought by Tao Tao. Call 1-888-400-3253 and ask to talk to John. I'll bet he's been having to deal with Tao Tao issues already. Maybe he can offer some help. Did you try to take out the spark plug and dump fuel in there? I'd try that and see. What color is your spark? It should be blue, not yellow. Maybe your CDI quit.

Okay, so here's the thing... I asked this question back in September and didn't get an answer, so let me bring this up again. I have a real question of honesty and integrity here. On the Green Earth website, they display the BBB Online Reliability Program logo. Well the rules of the logo require them to link to their specific BBB user ID so you can check them out, they do not. So I thought I would search the BBB Online database manually and I get this: Also on their website, they display the Yahoo! Top Service, 5 star award. To earn this award, you have to have 95% or more customer satisfaction. Again, no link to their user ID, so I'll just assume it doesn't exist. The website is the company's online persona. So finally, the question... If they are lying about their accreditation on almost every page on the website, why should we believe anything else the company has to say? By putting those logos on the site in violation of their terms of use, they open themselves up to criticism by people who are web savvy and know what they mean. I'm sorry if this offends themathclub or tstubbs or any of the other Bashan users that singed up since September, but I truly believe that this is an issue of integrity that needs to be addressed since they market their scooters so aggressively here. Anyone care to answer? -Rich

I posted the original message about my experience with Green Earth.I've been gone for quite a while dealing with a family matter, but the above prompted me to respond to a very old post about what happened with the faulty tire.I sent the parts man a picture clearly showing the bulge on the tire. I was told to have the tire remounted to see if it was a mounting issue,I bought a tire on my own since paying someone to use their tire machine would have been prohibitively expensive.I e-mailed the parts man and told him what happened and his response was"sorry we missed that, happy scooting!".My scooter is still running like crap,I'm pretty sure it's the carb.I will say my wife's has run perfect from the first start.I'm glad others had a good experience,I would have to say mine was a very mixed review.

Let me tell you what I think about the BBB. I went looking for the rating for A & A Scooters Inc. the wholesale company that owns GSMW. They were given an F rating because of 36 complaints, 17 of which that were unresolved. 17 out of what? Thousands of scooters and ATVs that the company sold. Ridiculous. There's like one person on this forum who has a beef with GSMW and that's over paperwork not getting there fast enough. To me the proof of a company is how well they deliver, if they stand behind their warranty and if they have the parts needed to keep their scooters running. So far I haven't seen anything in Green Earth that contradicts their claim of being a reputable company. Want to see a company that came here with claims of being the next big thing and pulled a disappearing act?? www.znendirect.com "Oh we got trouble-right here in River City-with a Capital T and that rhymes with Z and that stands for Znendirect"

I dont think anyone is saying they dont do what they say. its just misleading to have the BBB logo on your website when your not even a member. your customer service will speak for itself without misleading potential customers.

Um... exactly which complaints are you referring to? They simply rethought their marketing, they did not get in any trouble. Do you know of a single customer complaint? That was just a silly comment, posted for reasons other than what this topic is about. -Rich

Because frankly I think this BBB issue is frivilous. Remember ATV Discounters? Months of waiting to get your scooters, if at all? How about Alite Scooters? Scooters came damaged and parts to repair them only came when the Attorney General's Office was notified. Green Earth is delivering and has a parts guy who is right here all the time (we haven't heard from Leon lately have we)
I notice that you ignored how valueless a BBB rating was in the case of GSMW and completely turned around how could anybody trust Flyscooters after the Znendirect debacle since they're all one and the same.

Let's do the Math. Hmmm. If I sell only 1,000 scooters and ATVs that's 1.7%. Really bad. I don't think so. Stretch that out over higher numbers and it waters down even further. I'll bet a B & M would be thrilled to have 2 unhappy customers in a thousand.

Scooters came damaged and parts to repair them only came when the Attorney General's Office was notified. Green Earth is delivering and has a parts guy who is right here all the time (we haven't heard from Leon lately have we) The BBB is just one of several resources people have to research a company on-line. I always check at ripoffreport.com. Either way, the BBB is not frivolous, it lets you know weather or not companies resolve their problems with their customers. Now you say we haven't hear from Leon lately... Were you expecting to? Do you think this is his hobby? Was there an unanswered complaint? I don't see your point! Now tell me, who is the owner of GE or Peace and when was the last time they were here? I don't even know who GSMW is! I'm not saying that no records at the BBB make a company good, I am saying that unresolved complaints or negative ratings make them suspect. What debacle are you talking about? Znendirect was a venture that failed and was suspended indefinitely. There are no complaints that went unresolved, nor are there any complaints about Flyscooters that go unaddressed by the company. I also noticed how you sidestepped providing any facts regarding complaints about Fly, rather just used innuendo! In fact, Fly goes over and above with any customer that has a problem and gets it resolved. The problems are always with the dealers, not the company.Sorry, but Fly is the best and most supportive China scooter company there is, and they have proven that over and over again. -Rich

I'll bet a B & M would be thrilled to have 2 unhappy customers in a thousand. I see your point, but I have to disagree. It's not how many complaints they have, it's how they are addressed. We have also unhappy customers at our shop and at my other businesses, but when they complain to me, I always make them happy. In fact, it's usually the customers with the problems that send in the most referrals because we go over and above our obligation to correct the problem - people remember and like that. When you see problems that are not corrected or even answered, that tells you something. There have been a lot of companies that have come in like gangbusters promising the world and fizzled out shortly thereafter. Cheetah Motorsports comes to mind... I remember how Jamie came here and participated really well in the forum until the complaints started rolling in. All of their claims of upgrades and quality were supported by the members here until they started finding out differently. I just find a lot of the conversations suspicious, that's all, and especially with new members. All you have to do is read the first 11 posts in this thread to get the same feeling. First the question of the relationship between Peace and Green Earth was sidestepped and then a customer with a $10 tire problem was put off. Time will tell, and I will say the very same thing I said to Jamie at Cheetah when he came here - I hope we do get another reputable dealer on board. -Rich

I have a question for Bashan and themathclub, was the tire/running issue ever resolved to the customer's satisfaction.?
I wonder about themathclub not wanting to discuss this in an open forum, seems he has bragged a lot in other posts how great this company and their product is, but won't address an issue. He is also the parts and service guy. Just my observation.
I had a problem once with 4 Tank Urban's front tires that had "humps" in them. The front ends had a very nasrty vibration over 10MPH. I considered this to be a safety issue. I contacted Tank and they asked for a video to show what the problem was, I complied and within a few days I had new tires at no cost, except I split the frieght with them. "Fine print on warranty, replacement parts covered plus freight." Now considering all the "bad" that has been said about Tank at least they covered all my warranty issues. Now they are gone, which to me is a shame. I will look for a new distributor during the winter months to add to my Roketa line.
Now I have mixed feelings about the BBB. They are just a "watchdog" and have no power to make anyone do anything. I also find their pricing to become a BBB member to high. But, a lot of people do take take stock in their rating system and to use their Logo without permission is just plain wrong and is deceiving to a prospective buyer. I looked up my business on the BBB and have a rating of B+, yet they have no information on me except I am not one of their members, now I will bet if I was a member it would be an A+ rating. They also have nothing on my website. The only time I use the BBB is to check about unresolved complaints. When a person files a complaint to the BBB, they in turn send the complaint to the business for a response, in my opinion that business should do everything they can to resolve that issue mainly because if they don't it is out there for all to see and that does not make good business sense not to respond/resolve the issue. Just my two cents worth.
Jim
