Okay....time for a quick rant!
I'm getting pretty tired of seeing the beloved icons of my youth being co-opted by corporate America to make a quick buck. When I was growing up you either owned a Schwinn or a Huffy. Venerable brands of American quality.
Now I go into Pep Boys and see Kawasaki power tools; in Value City I see Coleman boots and sneakers, WalMart gives us Black and Decker everything. Swiss Army briefcases...yeah right.
What's next? Yamaha vice grips? Briggs and Stratton carbide sweaters?
Fellow scooterists... let's help out Madison Ave with some new product ideas.
I'll start it off:

Yeah...I screwed up. I originally posted this topic in the 125cc and 250cc forums. I then thought that was probably not the correct forum and reposted to the general forum.
Kudos to Emily "tortoise" Post for the lesson in etiquette.
Hopefully when I ramp up my postings over 45 posts a month, I too, will become an arbiter of good taste and decorum.

Yup, general forum is the right place for this thread, as far as the stickies go, you'll have to figure put how to become a moderator to be able to do that I believe.

There are only a small handfull of carefully selected sticky makers around here. For a small donation of $100K, you too can have the power to sticky. ;D

Well since all manufacturing has pretty much moved offshore to China, now everything is made in China. its the Global Economy and three factors, companies looking to lower costs of manufacturing stuff and customers who all want to pay ever cheaper prices for things and of course environmental concerns which raise the prices everywhere except in those offshore countries that have little to no environmental laws.
A while back I was looking to get a replacement portable battery powered drill to replace my venerable Bosch drill, and came to the conclusion that no one makes drill that is made in the USA or Germany anymore. Even the Japanese drills are made in China too.
