Bragging about your good fortune at having such nice weather will only make the Northeners jealous.

The high temperature today in Detroit will be 25. Multi viscosity oil is a must for our scooters, as also is, a short warm-up period. No, we will not go on pleasure rides, but we will don our snow-mobile suits and be off to do our chores, our errands, our things to survive. And in the future, when scooter elders tell ancient lore about the hardy scooterists from the north, not all of the young ones will believe. Your, young ones will though. Their folks've seen it with their own eyes.

8-)STING if I lived in DETROIT my oil should be thin enough to start it by JUNE no way would I ride when it is that cold time to catch the bus. THEIR wont be many stories to pass to future generations because y'all going to freeze to death Do they make block heaters for scooters? KEEP ON SCOOTIN!!! When it gets warmer. ;D

Swamp- Used to work with a fellow who was raised in North Dakota. When it got this cold he used to say "North Dakota heat wave!"

Yeah, it's about 20 right now and heading down to the mid or low teens in our panhandle of WV! Winds gusting over 30 mph. All-in-all, not a very pleasant night. Supposed to be 50-60 by next week! Look out scoot, here I come for a ride!

Did not somebody start a thread "how cold is it ??": It is so cold that the strippers in the local nudie bar are wearing long johns under their lingerie. I wonder if still have that coat in the back of the closet ?

I rode my Helix saturday when it was 28F with winds 15mph gusting to 30. Monday it got up to 32F, so I took Linda's Manco(no windshield) out for a 5 mile run since it looked like it might be the last warm day for a week or so and it hadn't been run for over a week. Later I took the Helix out grocery shopping.
Yesterday, snowed all day... and today high of 13 and windy. I draw the line in the mid 20's... I know I'm a wimp compared to a lot of riders in Wisconsin and Minnesota, but I don't handle the cold as well as when I was younger..

Got a job right out of high school driving a fuel truck. K-2 was selling for about .15 a gallon, if they got at least 100 gallons. Diesel was even less. I would haul diesel to the docks and fuel shrimp boats for .12 a gallon.

fl has it easy it was -12 tonight and i still made it to work. You're either talking -12C (Low of +5 F, -15C), or you're telling the wind chill. And there's always a wind chill on a scooter! ;D www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KIND/2008/1/3/DailyHistory.htmlDang! Girl, when you're out there riding to work and back on a scooter at 5 degrees out, there's no need to make it sound worse... (though I'm sure it FELT like -12). YOU WIN!!! Compared to that, the rest of us are all wimps! I bow down to you!!

I salute you sunshinecma, that is most impressive. I almost couldn't get my scooter to run this morning in order to ride in, and it was only 23 degrees F here.

Zero at the BGM airport this am.. Summer here is called 4th of July...
I'm impressed by the cold weather riding.. from my bicycling experience.. I don't ride my scoot in the winter months because salt residue on the roads.. it trashes bicycle gearing, imagine it won't help my scooter either..

I paid $3.40 for K-1 today, staying warm is getting expensive. I only heat and cool one end of this old place, it would be rough to heat it all.

We just went through a cold snap but maybe looking for close to 60 this weekend. Hoping enough ice melts off one of the scoots that I can see it.
