It seems awfully chilly out for October. The weather forecast for this coming weekend, is 36 degrees for the low. Generally it is in its 50's at night and 70's in the day time. It might be signs of an early winter. Snow fell earlier this week in the Rocky's.. About a foot.. Here in Missouri, the trees still have leaves on them, but the temperatures are turning cool fast. What are your thoughts on this?

Hehehe... I'm also adventurous! I even ride in the dead of winter, even in the middle of January when the temperature plummets to a blistering 55 degrees! ;D (Can't help it, gotta do this every year)

Yep - it's coming. I rode to class yesterday and it was 47 when I left at 11:15. We had a frost warning last night, 42 currently, and now they're saying we may see snow flakes this weekend. That's about right, I've seen a number of Columbus Days with flakes in the air.

I plan to ride until precipitation, not temp, drives (sic) me to giving up. 10" wheels and ice do not mix well.
Right now, it's about 50 when I leave for work, and 70 on the way home.

They had snow a hundred miles north of here recently and the temperatures here are already in the low 40s at night. As I speak a fire is blazing in my wood stove. I'm expecting low 30s or 20s by November. It might be Global Warming somewhere, just not here.

Same here, damn we didn't have much of a summer either. Temps around 45, should be closer to 60 this time of year, and lows down around 30. They are talking snow for Saturday, it is just tooooooooooo early for this.

It's 92 degrees here right now! I'm in FL. As soon as my son's momma picks my son up I'm going for a ride. I got the gas and oil topped off (2T) and I'm ready to go.

Ya, well now it is suppose to be 31 degrees on Saturday and possible for snow flakes. August was 10 degree cooler on most days, than usual too. My fireplace keeps it toast in my home.. It will not turn cold immediately, but here in Missouri we don't usually see our first snow until November. October is a little soon, for snow.

The world isn't going to end because some 16th century sage said it's going to. History is replete with people claiming the end of the world is near. There won't be any secret hidden planets crashing into the earth or anything else like that. That's retarded.
I do know that we're going to be heading down the other side of the slope when it comes to oil production. Gasoline is going to get real expensive. By 2020 we're only going to be producing the same amount of oil that we were able to produce in 1990, but everyone is going to want more. Demand goes up, supply goes down, price goes up.

Global warming is caused by several things and CO2 is only one ingrediant.. Take road construction- millions of miles of new roads adds to global warming. Why? Black tar gets hot on black top roads. The government would like every house owner to paint their roofs white( white reflects the suns rays back up and stays cooler). So why doesn't the government paint all the black top roads white and leave a orange strip down the center of them? One can see the heat waves coming off the black top while riding. That contibutes to global warming. That is why when a city expands, well the more contruction( malls, stores, apartments, ect) the more global warming also. These places need parking lots, have big roofs, and cars). Cars are one source of the problem but not all the problems. Roofs are one source of the problems but streets are 70% more or the problems. And for the government to paint them all, is another problem America can't afford to do.. Amazingly we have not had a hurricane this year. But if the gov would do something with the black top roads, global warming from CO2 would not be a problem. I think we have seen cooler winters throughout the centuries. Nothing unusual about a cooler winter. Mankind has been predicting the end of time for millinians.. 1000's of years.. Now as time moves on- there are other things the government is not thinking of in reality. Population doubles every so many years. This creates another problem with CO2. Even if we invent a better fuel economy car, well say instead of 30 mpg we invent a 60 mpg car, well when the population doubles, well it puts us back in the same position. I say every man for himself. We can't stop it.

Well the forecast here in Westsylvania is high of 38 on Friday with possible snow. Since I used to teach Astronomy, I watch solar activity on the SOHO website. Sunspot activity follows 11 year cycles. The peak of solar activity should come in 2010-2011. The bottom of the cycle was around 2005. Solar activity should be picking up now and it isn't. The sun has been very quiet for over 2 1/2 years now. Since sunspots impact weather, we may be in for a long cold winter. Solar activity was low from the 1200's thru 1800's and brought on a mini Ice Age. Think about that Mr. Gore.
