I'm new to scooters, but not to motorcycling. I seem to collect manuals, even for bikes (and cars) I don't own, they just look interesting. Allow me to recommend ScootDawg's manual for the GY6 engine (basically an "owner's manual,") and the more detailed and larger "mechanic's manual" that can be downloaded. Both are now stashed in a 3-ring binder, in my library. Thanks Lee!
(Dontcha just love "Chinglish?" I just had to share this gem with ya, from the ScooterDepot site: "...The MC-X150's fast and flickable nature allows it to dart through the concrete jingle while leaving cars trailing behind in the wake of its flatulent exhaust note...")
And if I have to explain, etc.....

"Flatulent exhaust note".... I love it! I've heard the Helix exhaust tone described as a "flatulent exhaust sound" and I tend to agree. I got a really long drill bit and drilled a hole in the rear baffle, and it changed from pffft, pfft, pffft to a more "normal" low grumbleing sound. Still not what anyone would call loud, but I just had to get rid of the pffft's! That flatulent exhaust note wasn't exactly a bragging point. LOL!
