They're harmless, you have to really aggravate them to get bit and then it isn't as bad as a bee sting. I like their attitude, they don't back down from anything.

Well he's kinda cool Bob... I guess... In a way... I mean if that's your thing and all... It's better than Zuchinni which is what we worry about in the summer time in Maine.

Let me just say this... WOW!!! that is one interesting critter there. I'm with the others saying that he is kinda cool, but I'll keep my distance thank you very much. Also, I've never been bitten by a Zucchini either, but just their looks is enough to scare me off ! Aero

It's rutabagas I can't tolerate! ;D Those folks in Maine are something else, if they want to plant a potato they have to use a star drill to dig the hole, it's just one big rock up there! Someone stole all their dirt. ;D

Swamp - the ones we have around here are usually black with white highlights. Never seen one with orange, though. That close to Gainesville, he must be a Gator fan. Those funky eyes always get me! Sunshinecma - you may be in luck. The literature cited by littlered50 says they are easily tamed and can be trained to jump from hand to hand! ;D

I am severely arachnophobic and even looking at a picture of a spider will cause twitching and itchy feelings...but that one is kinda cute O.o. I don't think I will ever call another spider cute.
But if anyone else feels like posting spiders..warn me first >.< I get all twitchy thinking about it.

I'm really surprised that after all this time no one has recognized this little critter !!! It's a Scooter Bug !!. It sits on the scooter seat waiting for you to get on the scoot,, when you do, it bites you on the fanny - and then you go out and buy a dozen more scoots !!!
