Okay, has anyone had this very strange problem:
When I tried to start my scoot this morning, nothing... like it was dead. It was parked in my "scooter driveway" at home, which is on a hill, so I decided to roll back to the sidewalk. When I hit BOTH brakes, I noticed the fuel gauge rise, so I hit the starter again, and it kicked right up...
When running, the lights are on but the dash is out and so are the blinkers and 4-way flashers... unless I pull both brakes at the same time. If I do, everything comes on.
My speedo went out a few weeks ago so I replaced the entire instrument panel. It has worked fine now for over 100 miles and this problem just started this morning.
I noticed on my ride back to the warehouse that the gauges were indeed working. But when you come to a stop, they go out. Also, the volt meter does stay on and the volts are 12.5 continuous, so it's not a voltage problem...
I called my son and he said it sounds like a bad ground, so I took off the plastic panels and checked all the wiring, connectors, etc. with the scoot running and 4-ways on (they were not flashing).
This one has got me baffled... any ideas?

Okay, I found it... I keep telling myself I'm going to replace that dang fuse box but just don't get around to it! My son called me back and told me to tap on the fuse block and see what happened, so I did, and the dash attempted to come on. He then said to remove all the fuses and bend the metal slightly then plug them back in, so I did, and viola, everything is on now. I did notice as I was taking the fuses out that they were indeed very loose, and putting them back in after bending the tabs wasn't very easy, but they did force in the slot. I guess it's off to Auto Zone this week to get a new fuse block. This WAS on my to-do list, but I thought the factory block would last a few months... silly me!

Now you need to find a gremlin bell and hang it on the bike someplace. Harley riders do that to scare the little beasties away. ;D

Glad you found it fast. That problem has reared it's ugly head on other Chinese scoots.

I found the problem! You have a monster stash in your fusebox. I am not shure what this is supposed to mean either.

Those fuse holders are probably one of the worst things on these Chinese scoots. As soon as it warms up a bit here, I plan to install a regular fuse block ( as found in a car) inside the under seat compartment. Then I'll extend the wires as necessary to reach each circuit.

I just got a new one from Auto Zone for 10 bucks today. Boy that old block was really a piece of Best money I ever spent!
