was taken by ambulance to the hospital on November 23rd. with Pneumonia. While there, I suffered a heart attack and was rushed to a heart clinic a few mules away. back home today Friday. Feel like I been run over by a truck but still alive I guess. They put two stints in blocked arteries. no heavy damage to the heart. enjoy your day, there may be no tomorrow. retirement so far really sucks.

Twister; May God speed your recovery. Put yourself in a positive mood and plan for tomorrow! The pneumonia may have done you a favor. Better to have the coronary while in the Hospital so you can get immediate attention.

I second that, my father was lucky enough to be driving about a 1/4 mile from the hospital when he had his heart attack. My mother was able to swap seats and take him right to emergency, where he had a quad bypass. A year and a half later he is well and still playing golf, walking the course and able to play 18 holes with no problems at 70 years old. Good luck to you.

A prayer for a quick and speedy recovery Twist. Indeed life is a precious gift and we have no guarantee of what tomorrow or even the next minute here may hold. Take care. Tom

TWISTER,
Sorry to hear about that but, trust me, retirement gets much better. Just take real good care of yourself this winter and build up your strength for the 2008 scootin' season.

Had the wife put the scooter away today for the winter. I'm in no shape to take advantage of a warm day now and then. I will be on a recovery regimen designed by the heart clinic for recovery. walking-exercising and all that plus a special diet. UGG. I love to eat what ever I want when I want it so I guess that's over. And oh yes, smoking is a thing of the past. a hell of a life ain't it. Thanks for the kind words. Not looking for sympathy, just thought I would let you know.

Hey Twist...Bless you and glad you are home.....Like Yogi Berra said..."It Ain't Over til..." Come Christmas Day, it will be 20 years ago that I had a near-fatal heart attack. Do the exercise program they lay out for you and don't be impatient with your recovery. Have done quite good these 20 years...next 20 ought to be the same for you and me if we eat our spinich like Popeye... You are in my prayers, Partner........Have a Good One....just "Bob" in NC

I just don't want to eat hospital food ever again. LOL ;D It is a sin to take good food and abuse it like that! I had to get Tabasco sauce smuggled in or I would have starved to death ;D

I had to get Tabasco sauce smuggled in or I would have starved to death ;D GOD, you got that right. I still don't have a taste for anything. All food right now smells like hell and nauseates me. It must be the medication or something that changes your taste. Lost 5 pounds already.

Being retired for less than 90 days,I hate to hear of "one of us" not enjoying retirement. We paid our dues and now its our time to screw off.But hang in there and pay attention to the doctors. My dad almost died several times from heart attacks forty years ago. He did what he was told ,retired, and traveled the world.Had a wonderful time until he passed away on July1 at 94 years old. And it was not from a heart attack. Better times are coming!

Twister: Keep your chin up and take the advice of those Drs. Retirement will get better. It IS a **** of a life, remember the alternative my friend. Tuck that scoot to bed and it will be waiting for you in the spring when you are doing better. I am a cancer survivor of nearly two years and my prognosis was originally the worst but I am still kicking and bought our scoots last summer as a celebration. Every day you wake up alive is a day to be thankful. Hang in there and get well. Tom
