Road service policy, red light triggers, MP3 player mount, decent emergency and tool kits, REGULAR maintenance, a decent top box trunk, whatever bling (stickers, decal, paint) you want for an original look. It's up to the other Dawgs to tell you about mechanical stuff. Tom

I'm pretty partial to my loud horn that alerts cell phone yakking soccer moms to my proximity.

I find the Motorcycle Quick Brake Light unit to be a nice add-on for a scooter. www.brakeflasher.com/cycle.htmIt activates when you use your brakes, and blinks nicely at the automobile drivers behind you.

I second Earl's recommendation. Have had one on two different scoots so far.
I like a tach to tell me what the engine is doing at idle, acceleration and cruising speed.
I like some kind of tire pressure monitor to give alert you to the need for air. Have used the red blinking LEDs on two scoots - blink when tire pressure falls 4 lbs. below the set pressure.
Will shortly install an LED to monitor charge status - Green/Yellow/Red, or a volt meter.

Lots of good ideas so far, also carry a cel-phone for emergencies, and I like some extra lights---LEDs front and rear and illuminated side markers instead of reflectors---they take very little juice but give you extra visibility to the cagers. Art

A good set of tools(Craftsman)to carry around, emergency repair stuff(fuel lines, clamps, duct tape, bailing wire, band aids, tire plugs, ect.), rain gear, security cable and lock, insurance(full coverage if you can afford it), dry clothes(if there is room), definitely the cell phone like fultimerart suggested, spare keys, cash stashed in case someplace doesn't take plastic (very rare). $hit happens be prepared.

Since we can't legally mount a small rocket launcher (front and rear) I vote with those who said lights. LEDs use little of our small electrical supply and the more lights the better. To be seen is a good thing.

As far as additions to the scoot, my vote is for: - Iridium spark plug (much smoother idle in my case) - Synthetic oil after the first 1k miles (seems to run smoother with this as well) - Have't done any other mods to my scoot...it does great with just these
For convenience: - Rain gear (gore-tex pants stashed under the seat; stash or wear the jacket) and some quality gloves for cold weather riding - Cell phone - Tool kit
I ride 365 days a year (rain, snow, or sunshine), and this gets me through it no problem!

With the temp. at 18 this morning, I think back to the heated seat and grips I installed on my Bali 250 last year!
