I had some business and shopping to take care of today, so I had to decide, Kawasaki or scooter, hmmm, which should I take? Scooter! So I checked the oil, topped off the gas tank and off I went. First stop, the Kawasaki dealer in Walton, twenty-six miles away, to talk to the owner about some things I needed. Next stop, my pharmacy to renew a prescription. This required riding up and down some short hills with grades as steep as 10%. Fortunately the climbs weren't long but the scooter was able to keep doing forty miles per hour much to my surprise. From there it was a leisurely ride home with only one steep climb and mostly what seemed downhill after that. The scooter seemed to get stronger with every mile and started better every time I hit the button. Lately I've had to give it gas when it's warm and I hit the starter button but by the end it started with no throttle whatsoever. I guess the ride blew out some carbon. By the time I pulled back into my driveway I had gone seventy miles and only felt a little stiff. As always, it might have taken me a little longer to get everything done, but I saved a lot of gas and had an adventure with a small engined vehicle. I can't say I enjoyed the wind in my face when I'm wearing a full face helmet, but I think everyone knows how much fun it is to be out on a nice day riding something you like.

Took the bike out yesterday. Clocking 65 in a 55. Cars passed me like I was standing still. Weekend traffic going somewhere in a hurry.

I appreciate the yearning to ride the Kaw, but it is at a point now, where it's value is escalating. Keep it primo, and turn all your rides into small engine underpowerred adventures....I have!

I gotcha Big Guy. I've been using the scoot for a lot of trips into town these days. Ever since I sent my head to the East Coast Warranty Center it's been purring like a kitten. I keep getting tempted to do some daring long trip on it.
