I have a silverwing with a sidecar now, pic's on photobucket under kinneydon I also have the xy250t chinese for leaning. the silverwing with the sidecar does not lean and you have to adjust your riding style for it. you have to watch the righthand corners and slow down for them, the left hand are ok. completely different world without leaning, i have about 500 miles on the sidecar now and have been adjusting toe in and lean etc to get so it does not pull. it is interesting to say the least. Don ;D

When operating a sidecar hack solo, it's pretty important to have a balast weight in the sidecar to compensate the passenger weight. If you do not carry a balast weight in the sidecar, the operator of the sidecar would have to lean into the turn to stabilize the sidecar through the turn, better result if you sit on your thigh/knee, and move whole body towards the apex of turn.

Had a Harley with a sidecar once. Used to carry a couple of bags of sand to counterbalance it. Took the sidecar class also,a necessity. Never did get comfortable and had some scary episodes also. Not for the faint of heart. Very easy to end up in front of oncoming traffic on a right hand turn. LOTS OF PRACTICE NEEDED!

No problem with pic's at all, I now have 1600 miles on sidecar mounted to silverwing and you do have to be careful with right turns, either shift weight or slow down. Left hand no problem. i mounted a shock to right lower fork [came with sidecar] for head shaking and now don't have any. 4 main mounts, 2 lower and 2 upper plus the head shaking shock. i had a local welder tack to frame with angle plate for lower front, had another plate welded to existing plate for rear and made to upper mounts out of 3/4" bolts. so far so good but still learning. time will tell but ok so far. don

I understand sidecars are very tuff on standard forks. Beemers made for sidecars have a whole different front fork assembly. Made to handle side loads that non-sidecar bikes never see.

I just put a sidecar frame/wheel assy on the chinese orange scooter. it is similiar to a vog-260, the sidecar frame/wheel combo weigths approx 55 pounds, no pod at present and I know weight is bad, may not put one on unless it is very light. pic's are coming, and they may be posted etc like the silverwing is. i have run it locally about a mile, use the frame and axle/wheel assy from a cargo trailer, that i haven't used, have to put a upper bar on it?? so the alum. doesn't fatigue. Don after having a sidecar on the silverwing, i no longer want/need to balance etc and i'm used to how it drives, over 2000 miles on sidecar on silverwing.
