Ride was supposed to start at 2 according to the board but ended up starting at 2:30 which really helped since we were running late.
We drove to the first location and were greeted by about 50 other scooterists who were itchin to ride. There were no other china scoots that I could find during the ride.
Tom and I did get a far few comments about our scoots from the Vespa Peoples Buddy Club but NONE were negative. Several people had to take pictures of my scoot and many wanted to know who made Tom's scoot. It was very cool.
We started the ride and my scoot started missing pretty bad right away. I know I need a valve adjustment and I'm running a bit rich so at slow speeds I was missing a lot. When we got to higher speeds it was better. I stalled a couple times but no big deal at a light.
We were greeted everywhere by people amazed at the group. Waves, honks and general glee by people we passed. Harley guys waved. It was great.
Since I own a pizza joint about 10 miles from one of the scooter dealership locations, I'm going to call them Tuesday and offer to sponsor an upcoming ride. They ride to our place, we feed them pizza and soda and they ride back to the dealership.
All in all it was awesome.

I just went on my first group ride yesterday and wanted to make a brief post to encourage all to give it a try if you find the opportunity to do so. I was able to hook up with a group via Meetup.com.
We ended up being 6 in all and rode the back roads of central new jersey. Great way to meet a real diverse group of other enthusiasts, see some new sights, and see other scoots in action. I had the only china scoot, the others being two hondas (a pcx and the upright 150 that is the style of the Pathfinder) a 650 Burgman and a silver hawk. Good fun.

I'd really like to meet some fellow scooterists.. I see a few and even know a few. But nobody seems interested in gathering. I suppose you could say they are not 'enthusiasts', just users.
