So I picked up a wonderful GY6 powered 150cc Chinese monster (Baja SC150) for next to nothing so problems were expected. Most recent issue, riding down the road at about 35 and it losses power. I pull over to see that the carb is spewing fuel out of what looks like a overflow line (it's not connected to anything). Furtunatly the hot motor didn't ignite any of the fuel. After it was cold again I tried to start it, fuel pours out again. I open up the top of the carb and the rubber vacume seal has a pin head size crack in it! Now I know this is not going to be helping me with this custom hole in what is supposed to be air tight, but is this the reason my carb throws up more than a drunk in an alley at 3 in the morning? Or am I looking at something else causing this issue?
UPDATE: It will start if I give it some gas, won't idle for crap if I let off the throttle, and she still spills fuel everywhere.
Thanks for helping a noob out fellas.

Your carb drain is open or missing the screw that controls it. It should be on the bottom of the carb next to the drain hose. It will not allow to you carb to fill with gas.
Fyi use the search function at the bottom of the page (google) it has been covered many times. Welcome to the pound you came to the right place, let us know what you find JR
Oh yeah the diaphragm you are looking at needs to be solid, replace it also

Actually the carb bowl drain screw is in fact there and screwed in tight.

Yeah that's your overflow? I think it's what it's called. The only time I've seen gas come out of that is if I turned the carb on the side. I would have to think that the hole in the rubber diaphragm is causing this to happen. It's bazaar that there was a hole all of a sudden in this part, I thought it usually came from handling it. At any rate you need to replace it...JR

Wierd thing was that this all happend after I had been ridding for a good 20 minutes! 35 miles per hour to almost getting run over by an old lady in a Buick instantly is not my idea of fun. Is there anywhere online I can get that part without having to buy a whole new carb? I have had no luck in my searching.

Replaced the vacum seal. Still no luck. She is still spitting out fuel and will not idle.

I have never experienced your problem, but if I did, I would disassemble the carb and look for anything out of place, broken, bent, etc. I know the tube you speak of, nothing ever came out of mine. In fact, I think that 90 degree tube fell off of mine. I'm very interested in how you fix your carb though, just out of curiosity and for future reference.

I've had trouble with my carb too, though not the same problem as yours. I'm not so sure these Chinese carbs are all that great. I've been searching eBay, and find new Japanese Mikuni 24mm direct-replacements are getting more affordable. I just got one for $32 + $15 shipping. On Social Security, that's still pricey for me, but should be well worth it in the long run. I enjoy riding MUCH more than wrenching!
Hope you get yours right without too much trouble!
Sincerely,
Leo in Texas

I've been searching eBay, and find new Japanese Mikuni 24mm direct-replacements are getting more affordable. Are there better carbs being made available now? My Baja SC150 is very very hard to start. It will often fire but not run or run for a second then quit. I have had the carb off 3 times now checking to see if anything was stuck in the jets but everything was ok. When I do get it started and warmed up them it runs ok but it will often take 30 minutes to get it started and running. Has anyone else run into that? This one only has 800 miles on it so it has not been ridden much and been in the shop a lot for electrical problems (which I think I just resolved by replacing the wiring harness). Thank you.
