My new main jet arrived today and they sent me one that was too big but that's another story. I put my old jet back in, put everything back together and now I have a different problem. It's like my throttle is stuck on max throttle. I traced it down to where the wire connects to the brass looking thing that you can manually move back and forth and to that point everything is working properly. Could it be something in the carb?

Make sure the slide in the carb went down when when you put the top back on the carb. There is probably a guide pin in the slide chamber that aligns with a groove in the slide. You may have missed it when you put it back together. If it's easy for you to look down through the carb from the inlet throat then you should see that the slide is either down or up. This is another way to see if you are getting full throttle when the twist grip is turned all the way back too BTW. It may be easier to just unscrew the top and check that the slide went down when you put the top back on.

That was it. Once again, further proof, getting in a hurry causes problems. Thanks.

LOL Count me in on the "me too" done that as a kid. Mine was a YZ80 that had a broken kick-start. I couldn't figure out why the bike would pop start and immediately either A: wheelie and flip over or B: spin out like a "stuck open throttle". I was scared to ride it until a friend of my older brother found and fixed it.
