CUT IT DONE TO THE SIZE YOU LIKE and then what? what end do you cut does it matter? or do you cut a section out of the middle? do you need to weld it back together or anything?

No you just cut the end off, and pull the guts out. Then re rivets the tip back on,Then you can do it like brain has his or you can paint it like i did mine. But i do like the way Brian did his.

Thanks guys.Yeah i plan on getting Stainless Steel rivets for sure.I just wacked 5 inches off on the outlet side of the muffler and put the chrome tail piece back in and that was it.DO NOT cut the front of the muffler off scootdoggydog if you do you wont be able to remount it.Without a bunch of extra work anyway.
Brian ;D
Oh and i didnt pull the guts out.Except for the 5 inches i cut off.I started with 2 inches to see what i was doing and then went to 5.I basically just removed 1 chamber of the Muffler.Anymore would have been too loud.I also started it with the muffler off WOW sounded like a Harley!

I'm thinking about gutting mine out totally, and getting some metal together to devise a chambered style muffler. Kinda like a round flowmaster type design. I got an idea in my head, but have no idea where to start. I don't wanna just chop away with nothing to fall back on should I irreverasably mess it up. It should be just a matter of welding some 'v's together in the same pattern as the flowmaster cut-away, then mounting them inside the can. But I somehow get the feeling that it's gonna have no effective sound deadening whatsoever, and all I'll have a big useless can full of metal stock and filler wire, not muffling a damn thing, except maybe my performance.

Yeah i would not gut the whole thing. It will sound like crap.If you cut exactly 5 inches off you will be perfect. It will sound great and give you a lot more flow.
