I was told to be a little clearer on this question so here goes-
I have put an aftermarket exhaust on my scooter. It strains and strains on a level surface to build speed but when it hits 30mph, it takes off like a rocket to 43 mph. I think my scooter comes stock with 14's in the variator. If I take out every other one leaving only 3 weights in it to make it lighter, would that work to compensate my lack of takeoff power or could I possibly damage something?

14 grams sounds very heavy to me. My 50cc Triton came with 4g rollers. Lighter roller weights will probably help you. It should be alright to remove every other roller weight to see if you get the desired result. If it works, I would buy a few different sizes of rollers to tune your variator with. You can mix and match weights. If you use 4g - 6g- 4g - 6g - 4g - 6g it's just like having 5g rollers. You may be able to find a pack of mixed weights. Make sure you know the size of your rollers in mm before purchasing too. As I told you in a PM, clutch springs aren't a bad idea either when you add a tuned pipe.
