My MC-D54 is a copy of the Honda Reflex. Does any one know if the seat is a copy too..? It looks the same in pictures. The reason I ask is there is a eBay store called "3brothers" I think, that sells motorcycle and scooter backrests but the listing says " will not work with Chinese scooters". They won't even respond to questions concerning Chinese applications. Could be another " I hate anything Chinese" type pf place. The price is 1/4 to 1/3 of motorcycle web sites and the seats look the same. I wonder if there built the same...?

Hello barry: If they are telling you it doesn't fit Chinese scooters then that is most likely true, it may also be why the dislike Chines scooters since there are so many Reflex copies, which they can't sell anything for. Given the popularity of the Reflex copies they would have stated how well it fits all over there ad, and of course sold 100's of them.

i believe the basic seat design is the same as the Honda, meaning you could probably bolt a Honda seat on the Chinese Reflex clones.
The Reflex has a backrest pad that bolts on through the seat, if you have the MC-54-250B, then your seat has no holes in it to mount the back rest, which is needed to mount theirs.
The non B Reflec clones has a backrest pad that is bolted through the seat as well, but looks to have been done differently than the Reflex so I could not use it on my scoot either (i have looked at these before as well.
Unfortunately, an OEM Reflex seat will run you almost $400.

I actually bought the backrest from Honda for around $40 and it fit my 250B fine. Just had to measure where to cut the holes to slide the brackets in. Then I got the extension from 3brothers and I have had no problems. The extension is just a peice of plywood wrapped in vinyl with four holes. I'll take some photos and measurements this weekend. The important part is the plastic underside of the seat. If it has the two channelsfor the brackets and slotted for screw to adjust it will work. If your seat will take it I highly reccommend it.

My apologies to those on dialup Okay , here is side view here is front view Under the seat with measurements , as long as the two channels are there you can make it work. But if your measures like mine it is plug and play close up front of backrest and extension as i said before the backrest was ordered from honda for a 2007 NSS250 (Reflex) and the extension was ordered from 3brothers on ebay for the reflex also back side. The brackets are removed from the backrest and mounted on the extension and then backrest mounted to the extension This is really the only bad part, cut two holes in the seat and remove a tiny bit of foam. I'm no seamstress so I use electrical tape to make sure it does'nt rip any. Although once done it is quite sturdy (you may want to put a nut in and you will be able to make it adjustable. Me at 6'2" need to keep it all the way back After that just slide it in And Done!!! took about 20 minutes and made the ride sooo much more comfortable

What does the brackets attach to under the seat..? The two channels have no lip to slide the brackets into so do we put bolts through the brackets and into the little holes..? Why do you say yours is plug and play when your seat (pictured) looks the same as mine, except mine is white not black..? I'm just not getting how the backrest is secured to the underside of the seat.

The foam on the top part of the seat keeps it snug as long as it's all the way back. Yes there is a bolt available that you use to move the seat front and back and lock it in place via the holes.

Neat, but that really looks like it would push you more forward on the bike, not so good for tall people

How does that work for a back seat rider?? My wife probably wouldn't mind, but if I have a backseat male rider and have to brake hard?!?!?

Hi again Tom, sorry to be such a dumb head but the bars go under the plastic base of the seat..? Do the bars slide into some kind of slots or do you need to remove the base slide the bars through and replace the base..? I'm looking at the picture and I still don't see where they go.

the bars slide thru the holes cut in the seat and wedge in between the foam and the plastic pan sliding right onto the channels. In the photo with the seat up and the measurements , I had not removed the butt pad/extension/bars. They are still attached.

Hey Barry, I got the backrest from the local Honda dealer. Was about $35 or $40 . Just ask for a backrest assembly for a 2007 Honda Reflex, NSS250. I just looked it up on the parts finder Part# 77210-KPB-000 $45.44 It's an order part but I ordered on Monday and had it that Wed. evening.

OK kids, finally got my scoot back from the shop and installed the backrest ( also notice the GPS unit in the handlebars and the row of amber LED's). What a difference for anyone with a bad back like me. Having a backrest is a whole different ride, I really love it. Thanks Mafunsalow barry

Do the slider bar asemblies come with the hardware (plates, screws etc etc) to secure them to the seat so the back rest is adjustable? I am short-legged. When I am sitting all the way back to the butt rest I have to reach just a little past comfort zone to reach the handle bars. What is your take on the availability of the slider assy? ;D ;D I had that same problem and I'm 5'9". I got the backrest with sliders from Honda and the extension from 3brothers on ebay. I took one of the slider bars and went down to ACE hardware (where you can by nuts and screws one at a time) and got a couple of the longest threaded clip style lock nuts, 2 lock washers and 2 1 1/4"bolts (I think). I have my scoot wrapped up for the winter or I'd go out and check. Anyway, you can see the picture of the sliders bars above. The clip nuts slide right on the ends with the thread's pointed down and then pushed into the holes you cut into your seat, (under the foam and on top of the plastic underside of the seat). You can see which hole's line up by watching under the seat and moving the slide bars back and forth. I think they line up on the second or third hole of the slide bar. Screw on the lock washer and nut ( don't over tighten) and your done. Try different lengths of clip nuts to better fit your needs.
