I posted this in the scooter safety forum also, as this was such an easy thing to do, and very effective, and wanted to make sure that lots of people saw it. If that breaks a forum rule, of course delete this.
I ride home at night quite a bit and figured I should make my black scooter a bit more visible. I've seen the reflective rim tape on sportbikes so I figured that'd be a good way to be seen better.
I picked up a roll at my local Cycle Gear and it came with a little plastic guide with a lip so you don't put it on crooked. I didn't have my camera when applying it, but I got pictures of the finished product:
I had extra (13" rims!), so I put some around the cargo box, and around the back of my helmet, which is sitting on the seat here:

It was cheap, and easy. Just put the bike on the centerstand, and turn the wheels whilst applying the tape. I feel much more conspicuous at night now.
