I haven't posted here in awhile, as I guess my cheap Chinese scooter isn't giving me any problems. I ride home at night quite a bit and figured I should make my black scooter a bit more visible. I've seen the reflective rim tape on sportbikes so I figured that'd be a good way to be seen better. I picked up a roll at my local Cycle Gear and it came with a little plastic guide with a lip so you don't put it on crooked. I didn't have my camera when applying it, but I got pictures of the finished product: I had extra (13" rims!), so I put some around the cargo box, and around the back of my helmet, which is sitting on the seat here: Here's my helmet: It was cheap, and easy. Just put the bike on the centerstand, and turn the wheels whilst applying the tape. I feel much more conspicuous at night now.

I'll be honest, when I read the title of the thread it sounded like things were going t get ugly. I was pleasantly suprised to see those pics. That looks really good.

Thanks. It comes with and without the plastic guide thingy. Initially I'd bought the one without it, and when I got to my car I realized my mistake and exchanged it. It's very easy once you figure out how to use the thing. Took 10 minutes if that.
What I really like about this stuff is it's reflective from all angles, unlike the little round reflectors by the license plate and front fork. You can see in the 2nd pic the front wheel is angled away but it's still brightly reflecting.
