And sometimes forgotten if not passed along. I learned this, "the hard way," about 30 years ago. Just thought I'd pass it along.
For "PRE-MIXXERS only."
Oil mix ratios affect jetting. Oil mixxed with your fuel is a lubricant, it displaces the fuel. So consider this.
You normally run a 50:1 mix, and have set up and jetted accordingly.
But for whatever reason, you decide today you need a 24:1 mix. It's gonna be exceedingly hot, you're gonna do a lot of WOT operating....whatever. BAD IDEA, unless you rejet!
At 24:1, you have substituted oil for fuel, you just leaned out the mixture. Yeah it's smoky....but cylinder temps will climb, and you risk a hot seizure. Only to be left scratching your head, trying to figure out why.
Remember, pre-mix ratios and jetting sizes work and in hand. Select a ratio, and jet accordingly. Change p-m ratios, rejet. KISS, but play it safe.
Don't ask, about how I figurred all this out, but it wasn't because someone told me first....dammit!

Good info.
Here's another tip. Don't try to use AMSOil's Sabre Synthetic 100:1 Pre-Mix at 100:1. I tried it at 80:1 and my engine soft siezed pretty quick. I mix it 50:1 now and it seems alright. I'm sure there are people using it at 100:1 or close to it, but it didn't like my mild 70cc kit and my driving style at all.
