I'm kinda looking ahead to tax return time, and if money allows, I may (possible, fingers crossed) try to buy a second double stroker before the enviro-crazies rid the market of them. If money didn't matter, what would you buy???
I've already picked my top 3 to look at and test ride. TGB R50X (nice styling & good power in stock form) Pre-2007 Kymco Super 9 (with liquid cooling) Rattler 110 (just love the bigger two stroke)

The Aprilla is my favorite but happy, very happy, with my Super 9. This is despite a bearing issue I had that wrecked the entire engine assembly.

Genuine Stella 150...sure you have to learn to shift, but 150cc's of 2 stroke power...with a nice metal body that looks like a REAL old style vespa - simply too cool.
Edit - Oops, just saw sports scooter in your thread title. Rattler 110 or Adly Panther 100 would be my choices.

I personally love manual trans (I come from a motorcycle/dirtbike/atv background) but CVT's are fun to tune in my opinion. If I were comparing the retro's, I'd take the Stella over say a LX-150 any day.

Kind of disappointing on the power, but a nice riding and handling scoot. THE EPA FRIENDLY PORT TIMING SUCKS!!!! Plus there are not as many upgrades available as there are for a JOG based scoot.

I dont know if you can get them in the USA but any scoot with the liquid cooled Minarelli horizontal carburettored engine has plenty of potential. You can get plenty of performance parts from Germany and build one to make up to 30ish HP! Check out this site for performance parts. www.scooter-center.com/1024-e.htm

How fast is the Aprilia SR50? My Chinesee scooter is quick and tops out about 70mph 2 stroke 50cc to 70cc. I see many people make their scooters look alot like a motocycle why? they always look stupid when you Obamasize them if you want a motocycle buy one til them remember you have a scooter
