trying to figure out the gap for my scooter

its a hyosung Sense 49CC scooter,my and my grandpa are workin on it now and we dont know whats wrong,,,,it turns over its got conpression and i think it gets gas we took the hose of the end of the fuel filter and tunred it over and gas came out but it just doesnt wanna start,i put the spark plug in about finger tight and it doesnt start(hard to tighten it),i got another question i push my kick start down and put my finger over the spark plug hole and it sucks air and blows it out,but the caseing around it is melted....please help me a phone number might be easier to exsplain

i usually set the spark plug gap to .028".If you mean the plastic casing around the motor is melted, that's not going to affect starting. The plastic casing helps the cooling fan circulate air over the engine. It should be replaced, but get it running first.
