One thing I've noticed with my 2 stroke...
Immediately taking it for a ride without properly warming up the motor after a cold start, it runs like a demon for the next 5 minutes or so. Loads of "pull", "crispness" of throttle, etc. Then it settles into its normal-type behavior/performance once warmed up.
What causes this? Cause I sure like the way it runs for the first couple minutes after a cold start and would love that kind of responsiveness after the engine fully warms up too.
Just as a note... I live in South Florida where average temps are obviously/normally on the warm side.

My Vino does just the opposite. Below 50F, it takes a bit to warm up, and there's hesitation when accelerating from a dead stop for the first couple of miles. Below 30F, it's REALLY balky -- nearly, but not quite dies trying to pull away from a stop. .

If it runs way better or worse while cold it could mean your tune is a little off. The auto-enrichener adds fuel when the engine is cold. If adding more fuel makes it run abnormally strong, you may wanna make sure you aren't running a little lean once warm. If it runs abnormally weak, you might wanna make sure you aren't running too rich once warm.

The auto choke... Of course. Obviously it didn't accur to me that the auto choke may have something to do with a different state of air/fuel once the engine reached normal operating temp. I will experiment a bit with the mixture and see if that makes any differences. I'm sure it will.
