I was thinking about ordering some Hippo Hands or something similar to protect my hands from the 20 degree minus windchill factor and was wondering if in the event of ice, loose gravel, or something else that caused me to fall over is it safe to be using this type of product. I am just wondering because my fingers are the only thing hurting and I need good protection from the elements and this being one of the options I want to make sure that I will not be stuck to my scoot in the event I might need to bail.
thanks,
kale

I don't have any experience with any of these devices, but I am interested in something like them or farings etc. I did a search on Hippo Hands to see what they were. I've read some interesting threads on this forum about simular products. One interesting thread that you may want to check out is Bar-End Wind Blocks. I know that this doesn't answer your question about their safety but, some of the other products in the above thread don't look like they would trap your hands in any way.
