A little background on my scoot...
It's a scoot purchased back in September from ATV Discounters at a very fair price(yes. I knew of their illustrious background/reputation in CS before I bought the scoot ) It's basically a Vento R4/Strada RX8 type clone with some upgraded components stock including 13" wheels on an extended frame, discs front & back and performance-type exhaust. I bought it with the intention of upgrading to a bigger bore when I could scape up some extra change.
I did a thorough PDI on it upon delivery. Couldn't believe how many loose screws, bolts, connectors I had to re-tighten. The starter was the worst with one bolt completely unscrewed and the other hanging on by a thread or 2. I tightened up the bike and ran her for 100 miles or so before she crapped out on me. Ran pretty good too. All of a sudden became difficult to start. Didn't "sound" right when it did run. hmmm... Perfect time to take it apart and install that 72cc kit anyway. ;D
I couldn't believe what I saw when I pulled the head off. The top of the piston was mangled to s*&%. And after only 100 miles? WTF? Pulled the cylinder off to find that the piston was installed backwards. LOL I'm surprised the thing ran at all. Ya think maybe the guy on the assembly line dozed off or something? LOL
Anyway... fast forward to the present...
Installed 72cc kit w/aluminum head & mildly ported exhaust. Made sure piston was facing the right way. :-) Checked compression... 130. Nice. Put on an Arreche 19mm carb. Started up on the first kick. Currently jumping back and forth between a 90 & 95 main jet (haven't decided which works better yet). Also added a UNI free flow filter.
Results...
My question... I want to smooth out the acceleration curve without losing top end performance as it's a little uneven right now. FYI... I have not touched the stock clutch, weights, springs, vatiator, etc. I have also not adjusted the needle position on the new carb. What would you gurus try next? Any specific suggestions to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.Real aftermarket performance pipe? Rollers? Springs? I apologize in advance if a similiar question has already been asked.
One more thing... a big thank you for all the knowledge ya'll have shared with so many of us on this forum.

- 0-10mph... super duper launch off the line.
- 10-30mph... decent. certainly keeps up with traffic. but nothing to write home about. feels like a stock 50cc.
- 30-50+ (verified)... oh my goodness. those exta cubic inches and 13" wheels sure do make a difference here. Pulls like mad. I can cruise at 45-50mph with 1/3 throttle all day long. I hesitate to really open her up yet as I want to break in the cylinder a bit more.
